Na época que não havia escrita, a musicalização possuía a função de transmissão cultural entre as diversas gerações. A música tem um papel fundamental na educação, pois serve como um elo na transmissão de conhecimentos. Este estudo teve como objetivo verificar a importância da música na vida dos discentes da Educação Profissional, Científica e Tecnológica. Foi aplicado questionário para os participantes do projeto “Banda de Música IFPA Campus Santarém”. Dentre os participantes havia discentes do curso integrado e egressos do IFPA campus Santarém, além de membros da comunidade externa. Foram encontradas proporções iguais para a distribuição por sexo, sendo a maioria com idade igual ou maior que 17 anos, que cursam o segundo ano na modalidade integrado. Todos os entrevistados disseram que gostam de música e que praticam atividades relacionadas à música, sendo que mais da metade possuem mais de quatro anos em práticas relacionadas a essa arte. Conclui-se que o ensino de música na EPCT estimula a vivência do processo de ensino-aprendizagem como um todo significativo, criando contextos de produção e interação.
This study is exploratory research with a qualitative-quantitative approach and demonstrates the socioeconomic characteristics, educational aspects, difficulties and expectations of students who are 40 years old or older in the group of the Technical Course in Accommodation – PROEJA at IFPA - Campus Santarém. The research participants who met the criteria were selected from the enrollment list and later interviewed in person through a questionnaire containing 26 open and closed questions divided into two groups: I-Socioeconomic characterization, with 15 questions and II - Educational aspects, difficulties and expectations, containing 11 questions. The results include the totality of the interviewed population being female, married and separated, unemployed, considering their learning capacity as regular, and having as main difficulty during the classes, the understanding of the teachers' explanations.
