RESUMO Vários países, como Alemanha, Brasil, Colômbia, Estados Unidos, Estônia, Indonésia, Filipinas, República Tcheca, Irã e México, têm promovido as olimpíadas científicas como forma de garantir a melhoria da qualidade da educação. Apesar disso, ainda existem poucos trabalhos sistematizados sobre as olimpíadas científicas no contexto mundial. Assim, este artigo teve como objetivo avaliar a produção científica mundial sobre o papel das olimpíadas e seu caráter de política pública, além de promover uma discussão acerca dos reflexos do federalismo nas políticas educacionais no Brasil. Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo bibliométrico, que teve como fonte de dados a plataforma Web of Science. Nos resultados, demonstrou-se a existência de uma tendência crescente nas pesquisas sobre as olimpíadas científicas, destacando-se os Estados Unidos da América como o país que mais desenvolve estudos nessa área.
O uso crescente das TICs e a sua capacidade de transformar os processos educacionais tem sido assunto de destaque nas discussões de políticas de educação superior, despertando a atenção para a necessidade de debates acadêmicos que visam entender aspetos ligados a aceitação e uso das TICs nos processos de ensino. O presente estudo, recorre à Teoria Unificada de Aceitação e Uso da Tecnologia (UTAUT), para analisar os fatores que os docentes do ensino superior púbico, percebem como sendo determinantes e que influenciam a tendência de utilização de TICs nas IES em Manica, Moçambique. Para a coleta de dados, foi desenvolvido um questionário online e enviado a 207 docentes das IES públicas da província de Manica, dos quais, 103 responderam. Os dados foram analisados usando a análise fatorial e a regressão logística binominal. Os resultados do estudo indicaram que os docentes percebem como fatores determinantes para a utilização TICS a expectativa de desempenho, as condições facilitadoras e a expectativa de esforço. Estes três fatores contribuem positivamente na tendência de uso das TICs.
A presente pesquisa orientou-se pelo objetivo de investigar os fatores de implementação do Sistema Nacional de Avaliação, Acreditação e Garantia de Qualidade – SINAQES em Moçambique, como política pública para o Ensino Superior. Procedeu-se a realização de uma Pesquisa Documental, baseando-se na análise de conteúdo de documentos oficiais. Identificou-se a instauração de um sistema educacional colonial, sua conversão para o período pós-independência, e a introdução da economia de mercado como determinantes contextuais relevantes, sob os quais o SINAQES é introduzido. Sua implementação encontrou-se em torno da articulação de diferentes atores: atores políticos, burocratas, especialistas, grupos de interesse e destinatários da iniciativa, sob um modelo que demonstrou concentrar-se numa concepção top-down.
