In the 21st century, the educational institution needs to consider coverage graduates that success is not confined to academic ability, but more to the abilities and skills that will help graduates to compete in a global and digital world today. An important skill to have in the digital age, such as critical thinking skills, problemsolving, creativity, ability to communicate and collaborate as well as having the ability in information technology. This study conducted to describe the learning outcome and response of students with the use of science teaching material that integrated STEAM education and based on Jember's local wisdom. The design of development by using a model of ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Develop, Implement and Evaluate). This research has done in MTs. Bustanul Ulum, Jember in class VII A with 25 sample. The results of the validation average of 4.31 by experts 1, and 4.09 by experts 2. The results of students' cognitive and psychomotor are 73.84 and 91.8. The average score of student's response is 0.91. It means the teaching materials that developed is very valid, the value of the cognitive is good enough, the psychomotor is very high and the given of response is very positive, so the teaching materials are feasible to implement and this teaching materials can improved performance and student's motivation to learn.
The learning model project based learning is an instructional model that can be applied to the STEM approach. Approach STEM (Science, Technology in, Engineering and Mathematic) is an approach that can be used in learning by using multiple disciplines. STEM approach in learning is very suitable to be applied in the curriculum in 2013 so that students are able to be more active, creative, and better understand the concepts taught in a material for a project which produced students in learning directly related to real-life experience of students in the everyday. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the learning model project based learning with STEM approach to the learning outcomes of high school students. The research was conducted in class X IPA 1 SMA Muhammadiyah 3 Jember, with 32 students at 15 male students and 17 female students. The method used in this research is the method pre-experiment design with one group pretest-posttest design. Collecting data in this study using the initial test and final test. Student learning outcomes obtained after application project based learning model STEM learning approach shows N-gain category was at 0.62. Keywords: project based learning, approach STEM, learning outcomes.
Online learning is one form of adaptation in the field of education to face of the covid 19 pendemic. Existing technology continues to be developed for both online meeting needs and digital learning media that is suitable to support distance learning systems. One of the lesson that is considered to be lacking in utilizing digital learning media is physics. The purpose of this research was to describe student’s response to the powerpoint animation media of the heat lesson in physics. The research method used as descriptive. The respondents of this research were students of grade XI MIPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Tanggul consisting of 32 students. This research uses data retrieval techniques through student response questionnaires consisting of aspects of operation/use of media and usage reactions. The results of the students’ response analysis to the use of powerpoint animation media amounted to 81,33% with details on each aspect was 81,41% on the aspect of media use and by 81,25% on the aspect of usage reaction. Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be stated that the powerpoint animation media of the subject of heat received a very positive response from the respondents.
The student's activeness in the learning process is indispensable especially in the application of the curriculum 2013. Physics learning conducted in schools is still centered on teachers using lecture methods, so students tend to be passive, bored, and less enthusiastic in learning. Therefore, a learning model is needed can make students be centers during the learning process. This study aims to examine significant differences in students' cognitive learning outcomes when using the Problem Based Learning model with STEM approaches to Business and Energy materials. This type of research is a quasi-experiment and the research design used is pretest and posttest control-group design. The sample of this study is class X IPA 1 and X IPA 3 at MAN 2 Jember. Data collection of cognitive learning outcomes is obtained through tests. The data analysis conduct using the Independent Sample T-Test or Mann-Whitney U. Based on the results of the research, there was an improvement in cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class after treatment. However, after being test using Mann-Whitney U showed no significant differences between cognitive learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class. Key word: Cognitive Learning Outcomes, Problem Based Learning, STEM Approach
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
