This study aims to investigate how football, which is the most popular sport today, affects the life skills of individuals who participate in football activities. The participants in the study were between 12 to 17 years old and those who participated in training for at least two years were chosen. As the measurement tool, the unique form Life Skills Scale for Sport was used with the aim of evaluating the life skills gained through sports. For two-sample comparisons, Mann Whitney U test was used; while for multiple-sample comparisons, Kruskal Wallis H test was utilized. In the multiple sample comparisons, Mann Whitney U test, which is used for non-parametric data, was used to determine the source of the difference. In the study, the level of significance was regarded as p<0.05. Depending on the variables of age, the period of doing sports and playing continuously in a football team of the study group, it was determined that the study group developed skills for time management, communication, leadership, teamwork, social skills and goal setting, which are subscales of the life skills for sport. Emotional skills were determined to be not statistically significant.
The 15th European Football Championship (UEFA) was hosted by France. Italy exhibited a different football from this previous tournament. Before 2016, Italian football is a team that has adopted the strict defense principle. It is aimed to reach the result based on standing balls and individual actions. With the 5-4-1 and 4-5-1 game system, the defense is not at risk and few players are attacked. In the preference of players, players with good defense power are preferred. In EURO 2016, Italy football; Looking at the comments from around the world, it has changed the style and style of the game. It is seen that it applies new trends in football. We can summarize some of these trends as follows; there is a very tactically trained team that can play different systems. Different game systems have been applied in different matches. It was observed that they wanted to direct the game by owning the ball. When they lost the ball, oppression was set up instead of waiting for the opponent to make mistakes. Distance between locations has been established as 35-40 m. Instead of waiting behind the ball, the opponent was directed to the press area to create pressure against the ball. The aim of this study is to investigate the sports-specific psychological ability levels of high school students. The study is a descriptive study, and the data were collected by survey method. A total of 402 students (226 male, 176 female) participated in the study. Mann Whitney U test was used for paired comparisons and Kruscal Wallis H tests for multiple comparisons. The Mann Whitney U test used for non-parametric data was utilized to detect the source of the difference in multiple comparisons. In the study, the significance level was accepted as p <0.05. There was a statistically significant difference in favor of male students in the sub-dimension of goal setting, in all sub-dimensions except for the sub-dimension of being open to learning according to high school type variable, in favor of those who define themselves social-extroverted in all sub-dimensions except for high performance under pressure according to the self-definition variable, in favor of those who do team sport in the sub-dimensions of goal setting, confidence and achievement motive according to the sport branch variable; and in all sub-dimensions of the variables of club license status, sport year, number of exercise per week, being in the school team and presence of a licensed athlete in the family. As a result of this study, it was found that students who were successful in bilateral relations, social and were interested in sports for a long time were more advanced in terms of sports-specific psychological ability. <p> </p><p><strong> Article visualizations:</strong></p><p><img src="/-counters-/edu_01/0771/a.php" alt="Hit counter" /></p>
