Building Information Modeling (BIM) is defined as existing from the earliest concept to demolition and it involves creating and using an intelligent 3D model to inform and communicate project decisions. This research aims to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) of BIM implementation in Malaysian construction industry. A literature review was done to explore previous BIM studies on definitions and history of BIM, construction issues, application of BIM in construction projects as well as benefits of BIM. A series of interviews with multidisciplinary Malaysian construction experts will be conducted purposely for data collection process guided by the research design and methodology approach of this study. The analysis of qualitative data from the process will be combined with criteria identified in the literature review in order to identify the CSFs. Finally, the CSFs of BIM implementation will be validated by further Malaysian industrialists during a workshop. The validated CSFs can be used as a term of reference for both Malaysian practitioners and academics towards measuring BIM effectiveness level in their organizations.
The Malaysian government has taken the initiative of implementing Industrialised Building System (IBS) in which components are manufactured in mass production under a controlled environment (on or off site), transported, positioned and assembled into a structure with minimal additional site works. It is hope that IBS can improve the performance of construction industry. However, the main barriers in IBS implementation is project delivery process. In order to overcome this barrier, ‘Integrated Project Delivery (IPD)’ as a project delivery system using a multi-party contract (more than two parties selected) was introduced. Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is defined as a project delivery approach that integrates people, systems, business structures and practices into a process that collaboratively harnesses the talents and insights of all project participants to optimise the results, increase value to the owner, reduce waste, and maximize efficiency through all phases of design, fabrication and construction. Although, many researchers have argue the importance of IPD in project delivery process, but the readiness of construction industries must be established. This research will use a quantitative study. This quantitative research process will involve a few phases including literature review stage, data collection stage, framework development stage, validation and recommendation stage. As the aim of this research is to obtain data based on multidisciplinary IBS stakeholders’ perspectives, respondent include project managers, resident engineers, and architects, contractors etc. are among the potential candidates. At the end of the process, this research will develops the readiness assessment model to implement IPD in IBS construction projects.

At the moment, there is a great interest in most universities to achieve higher ranking for better international standings and visibility. With shrinking resources such as financial and infrastructures, there is also a huge demand for the university to move forward and perform better in Research and Development (R&D) in each evaluation year. Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is an excellent tool to enculturate research in a Higher Education Institution (HEI). The culture must be built upon HEI’s strength and weaknesses. Hence, the right decision making tool must be develop to priorities different agendas such as QSWUR, THE, etc. Mobile platform provide an efficient way to engage with stakeholders particularly to measure HEI performance on R&D. There are three main activities involves for developing a decision support tool for measuring R&D impact in HEIs i.e. development of decision model using multi criteria decision making, dashboard prototype development including and UI/UX for mobile platform. This paper describe the importance of measuring the impact of R&D, prioritization technique and the process of prototype development. It is anticipates that our work could mitigate the gaps and improve the research ecosystem in HEIs.

The suitability of product attributes forsuccessful VMI program has been discussed by numerous authors and but not concluded yet. This study is to explain the moderating effects of product attributestoward VMI performance. The data was gathered from 101 of suppliers in manufacturing companies. Data analysis was conducted by employing factor analysis, reliability test, and hierarchical multiple regressions. The findings show that only level of demand visibility is the main predictor of service performance. While, replenishment decision and inventory ownership were predictor to cost performance. The innovative product moderates the relationship between level of demand visibility and VMI performance. The functional product moderates the relationship between replenishment decision and service performance; and the relationship between inventory ownership and cost performance. Suppliers in manufacturing companies should urge their customer to share demand information when engaging in VMI program. However, supplier should give less authority in replenishment decision for functional product to increase the service performance. Supplier also should have low ownership of inventory to ensure better cost saving for functional product.
This study is discussing about the usage and ownership of technology by SMEs. Technoware is one of the four components of technology that has been highlighted by the researchers. The other components are Humanware, Infoware and Orgaware. Technoware has its elements of its own. A total of 51 Bumiputera SMEs in manufacturing industry in the state of Kedah were selected to be the respondent and the data they obtained through directory PKNK, FMM and SME Corp Malaysia. Data analysis was made using the approach Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). Results show Technoware contributes and be a greater emphasis on SMEs.
The year 2020 has witnessed the world being swept by the Covid-19 pandemic that has greatly changed the social and economic landscapes of many countries globally. Among the changes brought upon by this pandemic involves the way one works. With the spread of this pandemic, residents in many areas have begun to benefit from the use of various technologies in many activities, including sales and purchase, and performing work in order to minimise from being exposed to activities outside the house. This research was performed with the aim to look at the potential of implementing a work from home programme among the academic staff in a public university in Malaysia. A questionnaire was distributed to observe the feedback regarding the implementation of this programme, and it was revealed that almost all academic staff believed that this programme can be established for academic staff and they stated their readiness to be involved and support the implementation of such a programme.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
