This study aims to determine differences in student’s initial reading skills by Applying the Syllable Method aided and Spell Method by Word Card Media for Class II at SDN 024 Tarakan. The type of this research is quasi-experimental research. This research was conducted in August 2019. With a population of class II of SDN 024 Tarakan and the sample consisted of two classes, namely class II D as an experimental class and class II C as a control class. The technique in taking the sample used is Random Sampling. The research data were processed with the help of SPSS V.21 for Windows Software. The results showed that there were no differences in the results of the ability to read the beginning by applying the Syllabic Method and Spell Method Assisted Media Media Card Word. The results of the Independent Sample T-teston student’s initial reading ability were obtained tcount= 0.045 at the significance level of 0.05 and df = 53, obtained ttable= 2.01 means tcount ≤ ttable.
This research aims to determine the effect by application Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) type cooperative learning models assisted by Mind Mapping media on the critical thinking skills of Grade IV SD Citra Tarakan students. This research is a quantitative type of quasi-experimental research. This research was conducted in January-February 2020. With a population of fourth grade students at Citra Bangsa Tarakan Elementary School and the sample consisted of one class, namely class IV A which was given treatment. The technique in taking the sample used is Purposive Sampling. The research data were processed with SPSS V.21 for Windows Software. The results of this study indicate that there is an influence on the application of Student Teams-Achievement Divisions (STAD) type cooperative learning models assisted by Mind Mapping media on students' critical thinking abilities. This study shows that the correlation results obtained that the effect of the learning model is very strong with the results of the correlation coefficient of 0.888 and the coefficient of determination of 0.789 or 78.9% and the submission of the hypothesis obtained tcount of 8.638 at a significant level α = 0.05 with df = 20 obtained table of 2,085 means tcount ttable. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penerapan Pembelajaran Saintifik Terhadap Keterampilan Literasi Sains Siswa Sekolah Dasar. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen yang dilaksanakan pada tahun ajaran 2019/2020. Dengan populasi siswa kelas III SDN 006 Tarakan dan sampel yang terdiri dari satu kelas yaitu kelas III A yang diberikan perlakuan. Teknik dalam pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah Purposive Sampling. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan hasil korelasi pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran literasi sains berbasis saintifik terhadap keterampilan literasi sains siswa sekolah dasar dengan hasil korelasi sebesar 0,644; koefisien determinasi sebesar 41,5%; dan pengujian hipotesis diperoleh nilai thitungttable sebesar 4,129. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan pembelajaran literasi sains berbasis saintifik terhadap keterampilan literasi sains siswa Kelas III SD Negeri 006 Tarakan. This research's aim is to determine the implementation of Learning Cycle based on culture and to observe the learning outcomes of students in terms of three aspects (affective, psychomotor, and cognitive) at SDN 002 West Tanjung Palas. The focus of this research is the application of learning (Learning Cycle) in elementary schools based on the Dayak Kenyah cultural dance Uma'Lasan medeq ubeq-meceq utat in North Kalimantan. The approach and type of this research is descriptive qualitative. This research was conducted at SDN 002 West Tanjung Palas. The informants in this study were 3 students (with high, medium, and low abilities), teacher, and tribe leader. Research data collection techniques are interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis technique of this research is data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The validity technique in this research is technical triangulation, data sources, and time triangulation. Based on the results of the research, The dimension of learning implementation (Learning Cycle) based on culture (dance meceq ubeqmeceq utat) on the material of sound energy, students are able to follow learning using this model students are more active in class. The second dimension is learning outcomes in terms of three aspects (cognitive, affective, and psychomotor). Students are able to solve description questions, are able to practice sound energy based on the Dayak culture dance, yet there are students with low abilities who have difficulty to solve the questions correctly.

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dirancang melalui kegiatan pendampingan pembuatan media belajar sains sederhana. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru-guru di Sekolah Dasar khususnya guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan yang meliputi a) menambah pengetahuan guru SD/MI dalam merancang pembelajaran IPA, dan b) melatih keterampilan guru dalam membuat dan menggunakan media belajar sains sederhana. Ketercapaian target yang dicapai memberikan pengetahuan kepada guru-guru tentang cara mendesain media dan membuat media belajar sains sederhana sangat terampil. Kegiatan pendampingan ini berhasil membuat media belajar sains sederhana bersama guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan yang terdiri dari 3 media, diantaranya 1) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media big book, 2) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media kartu truth and dare, dan 3) media belajar sains sederhana berupa media permainan ular tangga.Guru-guru sangat mengharapkan kegiatan ini berlangsung lebih lama, sehingga dapat lebih banyak lagi media yang dibuat untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Pendampingan diharapkan dapat dilakukan secara rutin ke sekolah sebagai bahan untuk bertukar pengetahuan bersama mahasiswa dan dosen yang ada di Universitas Borneo Tarakan. Selain itu, guru-guru di SDN 037 Tarakan sangat antusias dan merespon baik kegiatan ini yangmana memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan tambahan untuk dimanfaatkan disaat proses pembelajaran berlangsung.
Model pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik (SCL) telah dirilis oleh pemerintah dengan variasi contoh sintaksis di setiap jenjang pendidikan dan cukup memberikan ruang bagi modifikasi, inovasi dan kreativitas namun belum banyak dilakukan oleh sekolah. Terkait kurangnya pelatihan dalam penerapan model pembelajaran student center learning yang menyebabkan minimnya perencanaan yang dituangkan pada rencana pembelajaran di Sekolah sehingga belum terlihat refleksi yang jelas dan cocok untuk dilaksanakan pada sekolah dasar di kota Tarakan. Tujuan pengabdian yaitu sebagai tindaklanjut sosialisasi dan penerapan model-model pembelajaran yang berpusat kepada siswa pada abad 21. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan dilaksanakan secara daring berupa pemodelan flipped classroom serta untuk penerapan Lesson Study dilaksanakan kegiatan secara luring berdasarkan hasil brainstroaming analisis video. Sasaran dan target dalam permasalahan tersebut adalah sebagai berikut: 1) Brainstroaming penerapan model SCL; 2) Pendampingan pembuatan plan, do, see berbasis daring; 3) Monitoring dan evaluasi Learning Loss; 4) Pembentukan Grup WhatsApp konten Model SCL di sekolah. Hasil yang ditemukan pada saat pengabdian, yakni: 1) Pelatihan penerapan model pembelajaran perlu untuk dipelajari mengingat semakin berkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan cara mendapatkan informasi; 2) Kesiapan peserta dalam mengikuti workshop cukup baik; 3) Beberapa peserta aktif konsultasi melalui Grup WhatsApp; 4) Peserta mampu mengerjakan tugas sesuai dengan waktu yang ditentukan mulai dari identifikasi model SCL sampai menerapkannya yang sesuai dengan media pembelajaran offline dan online. Simpulan pada hasil pengabdian yaitu pendidik mampu menentukan taksonomi bloom sesuai dengan materi dan karakteristik peserta didik melalui model pembelajaran berpusat pada peserta didik.
