Growth of bacteria in the Simmental liquid semen is is the cause of the quality of liquid cement to be bad. The addition of antibiotics has been done to inhibit the growth of bacteria in the liquid semen. One of antibiotic that often used is penicillin. The addition of sweet orange essential oil is expected to further suppress the growth of bacteria because it contains antibacterial. The research objective was to determine the value of the percentage Membrane Integrity and Acrosome Integrity on Simmental liquid semen with the addition penicillin and sweet orange essential oil. The method used was experimental using Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment was addition 0%, 0,25%; 0.5%; 0.75% and 1% sweet orange essential oil on tris yolk and penicillin extender. The results showed that addition sweet orange essential oil and tris yolk and penicillin extender resulted the best percentage value of the Membrane Integrity and Acrosome Integrity in Simmental liquid semen was the addition of sweet orange essential oil 1%.
The income analysis function is to measure the success or failure of business activity, find the main components of income, and whether that component can still be improved or not. This study aims to analyze the income of beef cattle fattening business in West Binjai District, Indonesia. The research method is a census, which also known as a complete enumeration method, where all individuals in the population are investigated or interviewed as respondents. This type of research is a quantitative descriptive study. The population in this study was all beef cattle breeders with the aim of maintenance for fattening. The data collection method was carried out by the census of 37 farmers. The data used in this study include primary data and secondary data. The results showed that the beef cattle fattening business in the study area was an economically profitable activity for beef cattle farmers that were 86,703,940 rupiah per year, and the average net income received by beef cattle business farmers was Rp. 7,225,328 per month. In terms of business, feasibility is a type of activity that feasible to cultivate and developed because of the Revenue Cost Ratio value 1.38.
One of the causes a poor quality of liquid semen is increasing bacterial growth. The addition of sweet orange essential oil and penicillin in Simmental liquid semen is expected to improve the quality of liquid semen because it contains antibacterial. The purpose of this research is to know the value of the percentage of motility, viability and spermatozoa abnormalities in Simmental liquid semen with an addition of combination penicillin with sweet orange essential oil on tris yolk extender. The research hypothesis is the addition of combination penicillin with sweet orange essential oil to tris yolk extender can increase the value of the percentage of motility, viability and spermatozoa abnormalities in Simmental liquid semen. Materials used in this study is the Simmental fresh semen, tris yolk extender, penicillin, and sweet orange essential oil. The experimental design used randomized design with 5 treatments and 5 replications. Treatment on the research is the addition of sweet orange essential oil 0%, 0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75% and 1%. The parameters observed were the evaluation of motility, viability and abnormality spermatozoa before equilibration and after equilibration. The results showed the best result was the addition of 1% sweet orange essential oil and the lowest on the addition of 0% sweet orange essential oil before and after equilibration.
The purpose of this community service were to give an introduction to the farmers about income analysis of Etawah Crossbred Goat business and to know the farmers’, with various ownership level, income in Payageli Village Deli Serdang. The implementation of community service was expected to improve the capability and knowledge of the goat milk farmers, to analyze and separate between the acceptance component and cost components in the same maintenance period. The information could then facilitate the farmers on how to calculate the total income in a period of raising the goat, resulting in the imprvement of farmers’ welfare. The results showed that the farmers have an ability to analysis their business income, so that they learned how to minimised their production cost to increase their income.
The purpose of this research/study is to identify the actors involved in the value chain, analyze the added value received by each actor, and analyze the value chain of business actors who get the most benefits and related parties in the Toba Samosir Regency. The data analysis used in this research is in the form of qualitative and quantitative data analysis. Qualitative analysis is conducted to describe and analyze the actors involved in the value chain of the tilapia business. Quantitative research is carried out to calculate the costs and benefits used to determine the added value of the business. The results of this study are the flow pattern of the tilapia business value chain, starting from fish cultivators to consumers. The actors involved in the value chain consist of fish farmers, wholesalers, processors of tilapia, and distributors. The added value obtained by each tilapia value chain actor is 18.08% for tilapia cultivators, 5.31% for collectors, 60.76% for tilapia fillet processors, and 15.85% for tilapia fillet processors distributors. The business actor getting the biggest profit in the value chain is the fish processor, Rp. 102,048,667,500 per kg.
