Aims: To increase the beef cattle business by minimizing business production costs. Study Design: This research begins with preliminary studies such as conducting literature studies, problem identification, needs analysis, and system identification. Then conduct field observations and expert interviews. Best practice value chain analysis consists of several steps, which are both descriptive and analytical. Value chain analysis describes the overall market in which a particular value chain operates. Place and Duration of Study: The research was conducted from November 2022-January 2023 in Sei Bingai District, Langkat Regency. Methodology: The method used in this study is value chain analysis through mapping Hayami's value chain and added value. Results: The value chain model for fattening sheep in the research area can be applied to improve performance through efficiency, integration of actors, and distribution channels to deliver to consumers. Based on data processing and analysis results, it is known that the problem of sheep value chain management is a constraint on resource input in the form of a shortage of sheep supply, so Langkat Regency still depends on supplies from other regions. Conclusion: Mapping a value chain model based on actual business processes requires designing a supply chain solution to address critical aspects that hinder the smooth management of the sheep value chain.

Aims: To determine the effect of the addition of sweet orange essential oil to the extender (tris yolk extender without the addition of antibiotics/antibacterial) to total bacteria Boer Buck frozen semen. Study Design: Randomized Block Design. Place and Duration of Study: Sample: Laboratory Reproduction of Loka Penelitian Kambing Potong Sei Putih Indonesia, between January and March 2019. Methodology: The research procedure starts with the preparation of semen extender, collection of fresh semen, dilution of semen, equilibration, freezing of semen, and thawing. This research obtained conducted using a Randomized Block Design consisting of 5 treatment levels and five replications. Semen storage using 3 Boer buck, which done for three days. As a treatment is the addition of sweet orange essential oil as much as (P0) 0%, (P1) 0,25%, (P2) 0,5%, (P3) 0,75% and (P4) 1% on the tris yolk extender. The observed variables was total bacteria evaluated before freezing and after freezing (Post-Thawing). Results: The results showed that the addition of sweet orange essential oil had a very significant effect (P <0.01). The results of adding sweet orange essential oil to the extender (Post-Thawing) were 78.6 x 102 CFU (P0), 76 x 102 CFU (P1), 73,2 x 102 CFU (P2), 71 x 102 CFU (P3) and 68.6 x 102 CFU (P4). Conclusion: The best values the total bacteria 68.6 x 102 CFU (P4). It can conclude that the best result of adding sweet orange essential oil to tris yolk extender is (P4) 1%.

This study aims to determine the optimization of growth and production of brown oyster mushroom (P. cystidionsus) plants with additional nutrients of rice washing water and to determine the optimization of growth and production of chocolate oyster mushroom (P. cystidionsus) plants through additional nutrients of rice groats. This study used a factorial Complete Randomized Design (RAL) method consisting of two factors, namely, the first factor is rice washing water / leri water (L) and the second factor is rice groats (G). Each treatment is repeated 3 times. Leri water factor consists of 4 levels, namely: A0=0 ml, A1= 30 ml, A2= 50 ml, A3=70 ml. Rice groats factor consists of 4 levels, namely: M0=0 g, M1=60 g, M2= 80 g, M3= 100 g. Data was analyzed using variance analysis (Anova) at 5%. The results showed no effect of rice washing water and rice groats on the growth rate of brown oyster mushroom mycelim, will be at a rice washing water concentration of 70ml / baglog + rice groats 100g / baglog affects the parameters of mushroom stalk height (cm), mushroom hood diameter (cm), mushroom hood thickness (cm), number of mushrooms (clump), and fresh weight of mushrooms / baglog (g).
