Les indices de qualité de vie et les politiques publiques: Revue de la littérature et perspectives de recherche. Plusieurs gouvernements et institutions publiques ont développé des indices de qualité de vie, indices statistiques destinés à établir une mesure de la qualité de vie à l'échelon national ou régional. Nous utilisons 14 critères afin de déterminer la validité et l'utilité de tels indices à des fins de politiques publiques. Nous passons en revue 22 des indices les plus utilisés dans les pays les plus divers. Notre conclusion est que beaucoup de ces indices sont efficaces; s'ils sont réalisés avec sérieux, s'ils sont basés sur des séries temporelles et s'ils peuvent être désagrégés au niveau des sous-populations. Cependant beaucoup sont limités selon quatre points de vue: (1) ils varient énormément en ce qui concerne l'amplitude des domaines pris en compte et des définitions données de la qualité de vie; (2) aucun ne distingue les entrées, les flux et les sorties, concepts utilisés en général par les analystes de politiques publiques; (3) on ne voit pas de lien entre les politiques publiques mises en oeuvre et les résultats en termes de qualité de vie; (4) il n'y a pas eu d'études de comparaison d'indices. Nous concluons que ce n'est que potentiellement que ces indices peuvent être utiles pour la détermination des politiques publiques et nous recommandons des recherches afin de les améliorer.

This study examines the underlying dimensions of co-creation of an experience in the context of tourism and its effects on behavioral consequences such as tourists' satisfaction with the co-creation of an experience, subjective well-being, and loyalty to the service provider. The purpose of the study is achieved by showing that that tourists' co-creation of an experience positively affects the vacation experience and loyalty to the service provider. In turn, satisfaction with the vacation experience influences overall life satisfaction. The results of this study should help service providers change strategies and implement a platform for creating unique co-creation of experiences, allowing tourists to become more physically and emotionally engaged in the planning of their vacations. * Composite reliability. ** Average Variance Extracted (AVE) estimate.

This paper develops theory related to advertising, materialism, and life satisfaction by formally testing explanations related to the antecedents and consequences of materialism. Survey data were collected from seven major cities each in a different country (Australia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Germany, Egypt, Korea, Turkey, and the USA) using a probability sample (cluster sampling method involving income stratification). The results showed that the extent to which advertising is perceived to be materialistic contributes to materialism. Materialism, in turn, leads to the frequent use of various standards of comparison in making judgments about standard of living. As judgments about standard of living increase, standard of living is evaluated more negatively. In turn, negative self-evaluations contribute significantly to dissatisfaction with life. © 2011 Springer Science+Business Media B.V

The goal of this study is to extend the research and further validation of Lee and colleagues' measure of community-based consumer well-being. The measure is based on the notion that consumers experience well-being to the extent that they are satisfied with local marketplace experiences related to (1) shopping for desired consumer goods and services in the local area, (2) preparing locally purchased consumer durables for personal use, (3) consuming locally purchased goods and services, (4) owning consumer durables purchased in the local area, (5) using repair and maintenance services in the local area, and (6) using selling, trading-in, and disposal services in the local area. Data were collected from ten localities in nine countries/states (California, Minnesota, Canada, Australia, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Turkey, Egypt, and China) using the mall intercept method. The data provided support for the predictive/nomological validity of the measure by providing empirical support for the relationship between the consumer well-being construct and other well-being constructs such as life satisfaction.
