This paper presents the results of research conducted into the colour properties of commercial metal complex dyes CI Acid Blue 193 and CI Acid Black 194. Three chromium(III) complexes with different colours were identified using thin-layer chromatographic analysis and then separated by preparative chromatography. It was found that colour differences of the examined dyes depend on the ratio of the three components in CI Acid Blue 193 and CI Acid Black 194, and that these differences are typical for each of the commercial products. The colour differences of the components were expressed as DS, calculated as the difference in the areas under the absorption curve of the individual components in the range 400-700 nm after spectrum normalisation. The UV-vis spectroscopic and CIELAB colorimetric properties (at 1% owf on polyamide) of eleven samples of CI Acid Black 194 were investigated. From these results, the proportions of the three components were derived. Theoretically, dyes sold under the same CI name are interchangeable. In practice, the obtained colour of the dyed material is different owing to the difference in composition namely the ratio of the components in the tested dyes. Consequently, the result of polyamide dyeing with the studied dyes CI Acid Blue 193 and CI Acid Black 194 is a redder or greener hue. It has been concluded from these findings that the production of identical dyeings may be impossible when dyes from different sources are employed.

New dyesaliphatic esters of 1,6,7,12-tetrachloroperylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic acidwere prepared as potential fluorescent light-stable colorants for high-visibility safety wear. The structure of the 15 perylenes was confirmed by 1 H and 13 C nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and mass spectrometry, and their spectroscopic and physicochemical properties were determined. An attempt was made to apply the synthesised products as disperse dyes in the coloration of polyester as well as in the mass coloration of polystyrene and poly(methyl methacrylate). The light, wash, and rubbing fastness of the dyeings were determined, and chromaticity coordinates of selected samples were measured and discussed.

In this paper authors described rate of aging behavior processes for upper leather materials, which were measured by changes of rheological properties during determination of extension set. Upper leather samples were exposed to UV rays for 100 and 150 hours in Q-SUN Xenon Test Chamber, which was used to induce property changes associated with the effects of sunlight. Then, the samples have been subjected to mechanical test-determination of extension set due to PN-EN ISO 17236:2005 standard. The main goal of this analysis was to determine of UV aging resistance of these materials. The highest resistance was observed for full grain bovine leather and nubuck as the opposition to box calfs.
