Nowadays, in all cities, there is an acute problem of a lack of parking spaces. The number of vehicles is constantly increasing not only in big cities and megacities, but also in small towns of the country, and there are not enough parking places—the pace of solving the problem is several times slower than the growth rate of transport among citizens. The paper is dedicated to the determination of an optimal size of a parking place for design vehicles in a parking space as an element of roads. In the example of passenger cars and trucks, the optimal number of parking places is presented. The results of the research on the dimensioning of parking spaces serve as recommendations and can be used for the design of objects of transportation infrastructure. According to the research, authors introduce the term “design vehicle” and provide its definition. They also figure out optimal parameters for each design vehicle and recommend a special template for designing parking places.
The article is devoted to the problems in the analysis of road safety in the cities of Uzbekistan, specifically addressing issues with the occurrence of traffic accidents and the analysis of their statistics. The purpose of the article is to study the relationship between violations of traffic rules and the occurrence of traffic accidents in Uzbekistan. This study used the statistical method of correlation analysis and revealed a linear correlation between factors such as the number of traffic violationsthe number of traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number of fatalities from traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number injured by traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number of traffic accidents with economic damage. To determine the degree of correlation between the number of violations of traffic rules, the number of road traffic accidents and their consequences, the authors used the coefficient of determination. The results of the study showed that the number of traffic violations is negatively correlated with the number and consequences of traffic accidents. The authors argue that the methodology for registering a traffic accident in Uzbekistan requires modification and that a traffic accident is affected not only by violations of the rules of the road for drivers but also by other factors, such as the design of elements of the road traffic network.
In Uzbekistan, about 2,000 people die every year as a result of a traffic accident. At the same time, according to the Pulitzer Centre on Crisis Reporting, the Republic has the lowest rate in road mortality among the countries in the Central Asian region - for every 100,000 people, it is 11.32 people. Losses from road accidents in Uzbekistan equivalent up to 2.8% of GDP that is also one of the lowest indicators. But according to traffic safety experts, the losses from accidents are greater than reported data. Nowadays there are a lot of methods to analyse and ensure road safety and traffic management on the roads. The authors believe that road safety is a complex societal problem not only in Uzbekistan but all over the world. One of these methods is System Dynamic (SD) and COMplex PRoblem hAndling Methodology (COMPRAM). In this work, the Vensim PLE SD software tool (it is one SD tool amongst many others) has been used to perform the SD modelling of the case study at hand. In the methods of system dynamics, a computer model is created using a graphical technique for constructing flow diagrams and causal relationships of the system under study and then simulated on a computer. COMPRAM allows us to figure out the way to handle complex societal problems while involving a System Dynamics (SD) simulation option. There are similarities between COMPRAM and the traditional way of analysing road safety. In traditional ways, each element or factor is studied as a separate phenomenon. These indicators are studied in the stages of COMPRAM. This article has been studied a different aspect of how road accidents happen. The developed a comparison (according to six criteria) of the different modelling paradigms which have been historically used to assess road safety. Also, the authors made a comparison of the COMPRAM methodology with the traditional road safety assessment approach to highlight similarities and differences.
This article is devoted to the analysis of road traffic accidents and road safety in large cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan such as Bukhara, Fergana and Samarkand. And also, statistical data of road traffic accidents are processed throughout the republic. Such factors as transport risk, social risk and severity of the consequences of a road traffic accident have been identified. In conclusion, the author’s opinion on the factors affecting road safety in the republic is presented.

The results of research on dimensioning of parking spaces and recommendations to use the results for design of objects of transportation infrastructure are presented. According to the research, authors included the term "design vehicle" and gave its definition. The authors developed a template for 7 types of design vehicles and their sizes and also recommended sizes for longitudinal parking for each of their design vehicles. The optimum parking plot angles are determined, as well.
