The article is devoted to the problems in the analysis of road safety in the cities of Uzbekistan, specifically addressing issues with the occurrence of traffic accidents and the analysis of their statistics. The purpose of the article is to study the relationship between violations of traffic rules and the occurrence of traffic accidents in Uzbekistan. This study used the statistical method of correlation analysis and revealed a linear correlation between factors such as the number of traffic violationsthe number of traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number of fatalities from traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number injured by traffic accidents; the number of traffic violationsthe number of traffic accidents with economic damage. To determine the degree of correlation between the number of violations of traffic rules, the number of road traffic accidents and their consequences, the authors used the coefficient of determination. The results of the study showed that the number of traffic violations is negatively correlated with the number and consequences of traffic accidents. The authors argue that the methodology for registering a traffic accident in Uzbekistan requires modification and that a traffic accident is affected not only by violations of the rules of the road for drivers but also by other factors, such as the design of elements of the road traffic network.

Nowadays, in all the cities, there is an acute problem of a lack of parking spaces. The number of vehicles are becoming more and more larger, not only in megacities, but in small cities of the country, as well and there are no more parking places - the pace of solving the problem is several times slower than the rate of the transport growth among the citizens. The article is dedicated to the determination of the optimum sizes parking place for designing vehicles on a parking space, which is an element of the roads. The optimum amount parking places are determined on examples of the passenger cars and trucks. The results of research on dimensioning of parking spaces and recommendations to use the results for design of objects of transportation infrastructure are presented. According to the research, authors included the term "design vehicle" and gave its definition. The authors developed a template for 7 types of design vehicles and their sizes and also recommended sizes for longitudinal parking for each of their design vehicles. The optimum parking plot angles are determined, as well.

The Use of a Genetic Algorithm for Sorting Warehouse Optimisation

In the last decade, simulation software as a tool for managing and controlling business processes has received a lot of attention. Many of the new software features allow businesses to achieve better quality results using optimisation, such as genetic algorithms. This article describes the use of modelling and simulation in shipment and sorting processes that are optimised by a genetic algorithm’s involvement. The designed algorithm and simulation model focuses on optimising the duration of shipment processing times and numbers of workers. The commercially available software Tecnomatix Plant Simulation, paired with a genetic algorithm, was used for optimisation, decreasing time durations, and thus selecting the most suitable solution for defined inputs. This method has produced better results in comparison to the classical heuristic methods and, furthermore, is not as time consuming. This article, at its core, describes the algorithm used to determine the optimal number of workers in sorting warehouses with the results of its application. The final part of this article contains an evaluation of this proposal compared to the original methods, and highlights what benefits result from such changes. The major purpose of this research is to determine the number of workers needed to speed up the departure of shipments and optimise the workload of workers.
