This paper deals with the quality system in public transport and the shipping industry. The quality in transport is a significant determinant of the demand. It is an important tool for customer retention and it also has effects on the performance and economic results of the organization in the competitive environment. The increasing level of satisfaction must be one of the main objectives of each organization. The purpose of quality standards in public transport and the shipping industry implementation, as well as the example of measuring customer satisfaction in public transport,will be shown in this article. The questionnaire will be used and those results will be compared with the real value (the measurement of quality criteria in real conditions).
The article deals with the motor vehicle tax in relation with fiscal decentralization, particularly from 2005 with competence delegated to the self-governing regions in the area of motor vehicle tax. The result of this provision in the field of fiscal decentralization is increasing of differences in the motor vehicle tax burden in self-governing regions of Slovakia. The paper is the result of solving a series of impact studies solved by the authors in this field. Gradually over time from the transfer of competences in setting tax rates on motor vehicles to self-governing regions and usage of the incomes of this tax can realistically assess the development and impact of this element of fiscal decentralization in the Slovak Republic as well as propose a solution of resulting situation. The aim is to eliminate differences in motor vehicle tax burden at regional and interstate level while maintaining the current level of tax revenues of self-governing regions.
Summary. The paper deals with the problem of service quality, quantification of the level of quality and evaluation of service quality in freight road transport companies. The impact of the transport service quality on the performance of road freight transport is necessary to quantify a level of service quality but also define and objectively evaluate the performance of road freight transport with the help of an appropriate set of performance indicators and methods. For examining relation and quantification of the transport service quality impact in road freight transport it is necessary to apply the appropriate method. This paper includes practical application of particular method, as well.

Określenie wpływu jakości usługi transportowej na wydajność drogowego transportu towarowego jest niezbędne do wyznaczenia poziomu jakości świadczonych usług, ale również zdefiniowania i obiektywnej oceny wydajności drogowego transportu towarowego za pomocą odpowiedniego zestawu wskaźników i metod działania. Do badania relacji i kwantyfikacji wpływu jakości usługi transportowej w drogowym transporcie towarowym konieczne jest zastosowanie odpowiedniej metody. Artykuł ten zawiera również opis praktycznego użycia określonej metody.

Nowadays, waste logistics is a relevant element within the worldwide logistics system. This paper is focused on the proposal of the appropriate model of landfill site for disposal of municipal waste. This issue refers to waste logistics in urban areas. In this regard, three different alternative models of landfill sites are considered. Landfill site model can significantly influence the waste management productivity and effectiveness of the enterprise. In the paper, one of the decision-making problem methods is utilized. This particular method enables to assess each model of landfill site in relation to each of the specified criterion and order the models according to the achieved results.
