This study aims to determine the effect of reading and critical thinking techniques on students' reading comprehension skills. This study uses quantitative research methods with experimental methods with treatment with a 2 x 2 level design with 40 samples. The data used analysis variance and continued with Tukey and Least Square Differences (LSD) tests. The results showed that: (1) reading comprehension skills of students who learn to use reading techniques Directed Reading Thinking Activity is higher than students who learn to use reading techniques Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review, (2) there is no interaction effect between reading and critical thinking techniques to students' reading comprehension skills, (3) for groups of students who think highly critically and use the technique of reading Directed Reading Thinking Activity higher than students who use reading techniques Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review, (4) for groups of students who think critically low and use the techniques of reading Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review are not higher than students who use the technique of reading Directed Reading Thinking Activity. Subsequent experiments are expected to find the right reading technique for students who think critically low on comprehension reading skills.
This research aimed to determine the effects of a problem-based learning model with environmental literacy-oriented on the elementary school students' narrative writing skills. Using the quasi-experimental method, this research employed a non-equivalent control group design. The research participants were 50 fifth-grade students of Islamic Elementary School (MI) Darul Qirom, consisting of 25 students in the experimental class and 25 students in the control class. The data were collected using a test instrument consisting of five questions about writing narratives. The data were then analyzed using the independent sampel t-test with the assistance of the SPSS application. The data analysis showed a significant difference between the class that used the problem-based learning model with environmental literacy-oriented and the class that used the conventional learning model, with a significant value (2-tailed) of 0.006 < 0.05. In this study, the average post-test score for the experimental class after the treatment was 5.52 higher than the control class (78.2 > 72.68). It can be concluded that the environmental literacy-oriented problem-based learning model has a significant effect on the narrative writing skills of elementary school students.
Dalam penelitian ini, data hasil tes berpikir kreatif menggunakan 11 kriteria dari 14 kriteria yakni: continuations, completion, new elements, connection made with line, connection made to produce a theme, boundary breaking that is fragment dependent, boundary breaking that is fragment independent, perspective, humor and affectivity, unconventionally dan speed.
