Explanation of the recently intensified willingness to migrate has many components, among which migration for the purpose of employment is a paramount one. The study deals with the exploration of the three basic characteristics of globalizing employment in Central and Eastern Europe and Hungary in particular: migration motivations of foreign employees, their labour market characteristics and the degree of their social integration. The authors aim to provide a comprehensive picture of the content of engagement-which is continuously becoming significant in practice-of highly qualified employees originating from developed countries. The findings at the end of the analysisdue to the size and homogenous nature of the sample-are mostly thoughtexperiments, but we expect to provide a valid contribution to scientific and everyday discussions about migration.
According to the OECD, active employment policies include all social expenditure that are directed at improving the chances of finding a job and income generation (except education). Active labour market policies are around to assist in enhancing labour market flexibility at the times of economic changes. Their key components are the so-called activation strategies that act as typical prerequisites of benefitting from unemployment security/support systems in every EU country. The workfare concept lies behind the public work programmes. There are serious professional debates whether public work can primarily be seen as a ’compulsion and work test’ or, rather, as an opportunity of entering the primary labour market. The available efficiency analyses unanimously state that public work forms have the biggest role in testing willingness to work and the obligatory nature is the strongest of all active labour market policies. Research also indicates that public work reintegrates only few people back to the primary labour market and the majority are restrained from seeking a job and other income generating activities. There are several reasons for and against public work and opinions differ. The paper summarises the benefits and drawbacks on the basis of international and Hungarian analyses.
ÖsszefoglalásA tanulmány a magyar felsőoktatásban tanuló, a közeljövőben munkavállalóként megjelenő hallgatók munkaerő-piaci tájékozottságát tárja fel kérdőíves felmérés alapján. A vizsgálat arra a feltételezésre épült, hogy ma már a hallgatók elegendő információ birtokában, viszonylag reális képpel, ismeretekkel rendelkeznek a magyar munkaerőpiacról, ismerik a hazai munkanélküliség jellemzőit. A vizsgálati eredmények rávilágítottak a jövendő munkavállalók kreatív munkaerő-piaci magatartásformájának fejlesztési szükségességére. AbstractThe study explains the Hungarian students awareness of the labour market. I assume that today 's information society is open to all possibilities, which increases the adaptability of the labor market, thereby reducing anomalies between the education and labor market demands as well as among the regional differences. The test method was the questionnaire. The hypothesis has been proved only partly. Thetest resultsshowed that in the whole country we shouldplay a greater rolein order to offer information for workers about the labor market.Kulcsszavak: diplomás, pályakezdők, munkaerőpiac, munkavállalók, tájékozottság JEL besorolás: J40 BevezetésAzemberi tőke felértékelődése olyan folyamat, amely a fejlettebb gazdaságot szolgáló munkaerőpiac számára is kedvező. A munkaerő-piaci egyensúly hiánya a munkanélküliségben tölt testet.
The proportion of people with low school qualifications remains significant in Hungary, which not only makes it difficult for them to enter the current labour market but may also exclude them in the long term. For the increasing number of people with a low level of education, dropping out seems to be one of the most common reasons. Prevention as a determinative measure can provide answers to this problem. The study focuses on the issue of secondary school drop-out. The study results were based on the methodology of questionnaire surveys and semi-structured conversations. Based on the information obtained from the survey, this study continuously presents the results connected to drop-out conditions and compensatory measures. The study results highlight the significant effects of school and family, including previous school experiences, influence on the place of residence, the labour market status. The conclusions drawn from the results address the topic in a practical way and provide an opportunity to develop a possible action plan to prevent drop-outs.
The Central Eastern economy went into a deep crisis after 1990. It became obvious that the structure of the economy built during the socialist era was not competitive enough to join the world economy. The changes after 1989 were accompanied by business closures, and high and continuous unemployment. As a consequence, the standard of living decreased and social differences started to grow. Public opinion had to face what previously had been unknown: unemployment. This term became for many a concept with which "one has to live together". The objective of this study is to introduce the informedness of the adult Hungarian population as to the current situation of the Hungarian labour market, 20 years after the appearance of unemployment. The aim of the investigation was to map whether current prospective employees have enough information to manage themselves on the labour market and whether it is necessary to make up for this lack of knowledge during their school years. The investigation, based on 300 filled in questionnaires, reveals that the knowledge of adults is satisfactory as regards the labour market and employment policy, but on some questions, their knowledge is incomplete or incorrect.
ÖsszefoglalásA zöldturizmusnak/ökoturizmusnak mind a mai napig számos értelmezése van. Definiálásában nincs konszenzus a turisztikai szakirodalomban, mivel olyan turisztikai aktivitásokat foglal magában, amelyek átfedik a természeti-, kulturális-, aktív-, és falusi turizmus területeit, de akár városlátogatásban is szerepet kaphatnak (Drumm, 2005). A Nemzetközi Ökoturizmus Társaság (International Ecotourism Society, TIES) által megfogalmazott definíció szerint az ökoturizmus "a természeti területek felelős módon történő felkeresése, ami megőrzi a környezetet és hozzájárul a helyi lakosság jóllétének fejlődéséhez". Fejlődésének az 1980-1990-es évek adtak lendületet, amikor is a (tömeg)turizmus negatív hatásainak enyhítését célul kitűző ökoturizmus azt kívánta demonstrálni, hogyan segíthet a turizmus a természeti környezet megőrzésében és a helyi lakosság jóllétének növelésében. Ennek megfelelően az ökoturizmus értelmezése mind a mai napig magában foglalja a szűkebb értelemben vett turisztikai terméket és a környezeti tényezőket figyelembe vevő, az utazást meghatározó "filozófiát". Tanulmányunk, ezen tényezők egyes összefüggéseinek kérdőíves vizsgálati eredményeit, azok összefüggéseit igyekszik bemutatni, elsősorban azt a képzés oldaláról megközelítve. AbstractGreen tourism has several interpretation. There is no consensus on its definition in professional literature on tourism, since it includes activities that cover natural, cultural, active and rural tourism and may have role in city sightseeing as well (Drumm, 2005). According to the definition of International Ecotourism Society (TIES), ecotourism is "about visiting natural areas in a responsible way to protect the environment and contribute to the improvement of the local population's wellbeing". It started to boost in the 80s and 90s, when ecotourism intended to demonstrate its role in the abovementioned two areas mitigating the negative impacts of mass tourism. Therefore, ecotourism involves a touristic product in a narrow sense, and the "philosophy" that determines travels considering environment protection. Our study intends to present the coherences of such factors as well as the results of a questionnaire survey, primarily focusing on its impact on training.Kulcsszavak: humán erőforrás, on-line oktatás, társadalmi tényezők, kérdőíves vizsgálat JEL besorolás: R10, R11 LCC: HD5701-6000.9
