Background: Malignant melanoma (MM) is one of the skin malignancies derived from melanocyte cells. It is the most common cause of death, about 75% of all cases of skin cancer. Skin cancer is ranked fourth among the ten most common tumors in Bali. Aim: To know the characteristics of malignant melanoma patients in the subsection of surgical oncology Sanglah Hospital Year 2015-2016. Method: This study is cross-sectional descriptive research conducted at Sanglah General Hospital in Denpasar. The data obtained in the form of secondary data, patient medical records, as of 2015 till 2016. Data were analyzed using the SPSS program. Result and Conclusion: The results showed that of 11 patients, incidence with the highest proportion of patients with age range 45-59 years number of 4 people (36.3%). The most top gender was women of 6 (54.5%). The highest subtype of Nodular Melanoma (NM) was 7 (63.6%).
BACKGROUND: Central nervous system (CNS) tuberculosis (TB) can manifest as meningitis, abscess, tuberculoma or other manifestations. CNS TB is a rare TB complication, and its diagnosis remains a challenge since it has clinical and imaging features that resemble other diseases. Antituberculosis treatment has a significant role in determining a patient’s outcome and prevent complications and mortality. CASE PRESENTATION: Here, we report a case of CNS TB manifested as tuberculoma in immunocompetent patient complicated with spinal arachnoiditis. Despite a treatment delay, the patient still showed clinical improvement after proper treatment with a combination of antituberculosis drug and corticosteroid.CONCLUSION: Central Nervous System Tuberculoma Complicated with Spinal Arachnoiditis in Immunocompetent Patient CNS tuberculoma is a rare CNS TB manifestation, and its diagnosis remain a challenge since its clinical symptoms and radiological findings could mimic other cases such as malignancy, pyogenic abscess, toxoplasmosis, sarcoidosis, or neurocysticercosis.
Background: Breast cancer is a malignant neoplasm disease where in parekim tissue there is abnormal breast tissue growth that is infiltrative and destructive and can metastatic. The high incidence of breast cancer in Indonesia, is not always followed by determination of clinical staging and histopathology completely, whereas clinical staging and histopathology is needed to determine diagnosis and further management. Knowledge of the staging and histopathology is also an important indicator in determining the prognosis of breast cancer. Methods: This research is a descriptive research with cross sectional approach, the data is obtained from medical record in Sanglah General Hospital Center with research subject of patients diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015-2016 then processed and analyzed with the help of SPSS software. Results: Based on stage, breast cancer patients with EBC (Early Breast Cancer) stage were 30.08% with 2.95% of patients with stage I, 13.39% stage IIA, 13.73% stage IIB. Patients diagnosed with LABC stage (Locally Advance Breast Cancer) were 273 (47.47%) patients with 14.78%, 30.95% and 1.73%, respectively, of stage IIIA, IIIB and IIIC patients. In this study also recorded as many as 129 (22.43%) patients with metastatic breast cancer (stage IV). Based on histopathology, 483 (84%) patients with invasive ductal carcinoma, 61 (10.60%) patients with invasive lobular carcinoma, and 31 (5.40%) patients with other types of carcinoma. Conclusions: Based on the results of this study found that patients diagnosed with breast cancer Sanglah Hospital in year 2015-2016 are 575 patients with the most breast cancer staging is Locally Advanced Breast Cancer (LABC) (Stage IIIA, IIIB, IIIC) with 273 (47.47 %) of patients. The most common type of breast cancer histopathology is invasive ductal carcinoma with 483 (84%) patients
