Pro-and Antioxidants in the Field of Fats XVIII: The Effect of Iron-porphyrin-compounds on the Autoxidation of Polyenes 111The influence of anti-and prooxidants on the inversion of the catalytic effect of hemoglobin and cytodrorne c in the autoxidation of linoleic acid in aqueous phosphate buffer medium was investigated. B y addition of an antioxidant (thymol, a-tocopherol) or a second invertible prooxidant (Fe-0-phenanthroiine) the ,,critical catalyst concentration" at the inversion point can be lowered.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
