In the paper, the effects of the foaming temperature and holding time on the quality of the foam glass were investigated by means of the different foaming technology. The results indicated that lots of the defects, such as the non-uniform size of the bubbles, big hole and the pit at the bottom, were caused by the high foaming temperature. The fine pore structure was formed by the low temperature. The molding and properties of the foaming glass was affected by the length of the heat preservation time. The rate of acceptability and the mechanical property of the foam glass can be effectively improved by the optimized foaming technology.
The structural feature and technical indexes of 2A14 aluminum alloy connecting rod was analyzed. The pouring system of gravity die-casting process was initially designed according to the technical requirements. The gravity filling and solidification stages in the permanent mold were simulated by ProCAST. The simulation results show that the casting defects are predicted and the casting process are improved. The most possible section of crack defects are the transition part between the shaft and the connecting rod small or big end.
The deep narrow groove of the coupling plate and side with WC-CO coating was grinded by diamond wheel with metal bond and vitrified bond. The side of the deep trench flatness error was less than 0.02 mm, the bottom of the tank around the corner radius was less than 0.3mm. The type of porosity, particle sizes, surface roughness were measured by experiments, the data for the selection of the grinding wheel bond varieties. The experimental results show that grinding wheel with vitrified bond was suitable for parts of small coating porosity, fine particle size, surface roughness, and others were suitable for the grinding wheel with metal binder.
The MnO2 was used as foaming agent to produce the glass foams in this paper. The macro morphology, physical properties and the metallurgical structure were discussed in detail by the modern means of DTA, SEM and XRD analysis. The results indicated that the less dense and more uniform pore size of foam glass was prepared, and the good mechanical properties were obtained. And the main crystal was quartz, nepheline and albite by the XRD method.
This paper aims at the test methods of the suction between grains of lateritic soil which is widely distributed in southern China, and proposes the test methods and principles according to the variation of the suctions various components. This paper works over the relationship between the suction and the degree of saturation through tests, and also analyzes pore fluid chemistry influence on the suction between grains. The test results show that the test principles and methods are feasible. They also show that the quantitative relationship between the unsaturated soil’s shear strength and saturation (water content), and a new understanding of the physical meaning in unsaturated condition of X, which is a empirical parameter in the principle of Bishop‘s effective stress.
