RESUMOOs corticoesteroides são uma classe de hormônios esteroides produzidos no córtex da suprarrenal e estão relacionados com diversas funções orgânicas, como a resposta ao stress, resposta imunitária, regulação da inflamação, metabolismo dos carboidratos, catabolismo das proteínas, regulação hidroeletrolítica e comportamento. Estes hormônios podem ser sintetizados em laboratórios dando origem a uma classe de medicamentos muito utilizados atualmente em certos tipos de doenças ou ainda como tratamento profilático no caso de transplantes. Apesar da sua importância, o tratamento com esse tipo de medicamento, deve ser acompanhado pelo médico com parcimônia, pois podem causar vários efeitos colaterais que comprometem a qualidade de vida do paciente. Dessa forma, o presente estudo buscou identificar e discorrer sobre as principais manifestações adversas no organismo que resultam do uso dessa classe de medicamentos. Para esse fim, foi feita uma revisão de literatura, a partir da busca nas bases de dados do "Pubmed" e do "UptoDate". Com isso, identificamos um amplo espectro de manifestações metabólicas e neuropsíquiátricas que dependem da dose e da duração do tratamento com glicocorticoides e selecionamos as que são dignas de maior detalhamento. Conclui-se que antes de se iniciar a administração de glicocorticoides, é necessária uma avaliação detalhada do indivíduo, levando em consideração os possíveis riscos e os benefícios ao paciente como um todo.
Objetivo: Avaliar os critérios utilizados em emissões de laudos de Mamografia no Brasil entre 2015 e 2021, a fim de averiguar seu uso para o diagnóstico de câncer mamário em estágio inicial. Métodos: Trata-se de estudo epidemiológico descritivo quantitativo, no qual os dados referentes a mamografias foram obtidos através do Sistema de Informação do Câncer (SISCAN), com delimitação ao período entre 2015 e 2021. Resultados: No período estudado, registrou-se 15.923.115 mamografias, sendo 99,81% realizadas em pacientes do sexo feminino. Observou-se que 98% desses exames tiveram o rastreamento de câncer mamário como indicação clínica. Destes, 63% correspondiam à faixa etária de 50 a 59 anos e 93,7% à de 40 a 74 anos. A classificação BI-RADS mais frequente foi a 2, em que correspondeu a 48,5% dos laudos. Conclusão: A maioria das mamografias foram classificadas como BI-RADS 2, além de que a principal indicação do exame foi para rastreio do câncer de mama. Foi possível observar uma em mais da metade do número de mamografias durante o ano de 2020 devido a pandemia do COVID-19.
Introdução: o estado nutricional é importante no progresso dos pacientes hospitalizados, pois déficits nutricionais podem aumentar o tempo de internação e morbimortalidade. Objetivos: conhecer o estado nutricional de crianças e adolescentes hospitalizados e comparar os parâmetros antropométricos com ferramentas subjetivas. Métodos: estudo observacional, transversal, prospectivo, analítico em pacientes de 29 dias a 18 anos completos, admitidos na enfermaria pediátrica do Hospital e Maternidade Santa Isabel (Aracaju-SE) entre janeiro a julho de 2021. Realizada avaliação antropométrica e aplicação das ferramentas subjetivas, Screening Tool Risk on Nutritional Status and Growth (STRONGkids) e Avaliação Nutricional Subjetiva Global (ANSG), nas primeiras 48 horas após a internação. Resultados: consistiu de 235 crianças e adolescentes, 54% eram do sexo masculino e 46% feminino. Prevaleceu a faixa etária de 29 dias – 2 anos (69,7%). A média do tempo de internamento (5,2 dias). Diagnósticos clínicos preponderantes foram doenças respiratórias (60%) e infecção do trato urinário (13,70%). O diagnóstico nutricional predominante, conforme o índice de massa corpórea (IMC) foi eutrofia (49,33%), assim como pela circunferência muscular do braço (CMB)(82,55%). A STRONGkids evidenciou risco nutricional moderado e alto (64,25%). Na ANSG, a desnutrição moderada (15,75%) e grave (6,60%). Observou-se significância estatística entre ANSG e IMC/idade (p=0,032), ANSG e estatura/idade (p<0,001), ANSG e CMB de (p=0,024). Não houve associação relevante entre STRONGkids e antropometria. Conclusão: há risco nutricional na internação e a STRONGKids torna-se ímpar nessa avaliação devido a maior sensibilidade. Sugere-se o uso da ANSG pela associação com antropometria e análise global.
Introdução: o corpo humano requer necessidades nutricionais e calóricas para manter o fornecimento de energia e nutrientes aos tecidos e assim, funcionamento fisiológico. Ademais, durante a infância, a alimentação adequada é essencial para garantir o neurodesenvolvimento, um sistema imunológico funcional, qualidade de vida. Em situação de hospitalização, é sabido que os pacientes correm risco de deterioração nutricional, afetando adversamente os resultados clínicos. Objetivos: avaliar o estado nutricional e estabelecer relação com o tempo de internação de crianças internadas em uma enfermaria pediátrica de um hospital filantrópico no município de Aracaju. Metodologia: trata-se de um estudo observacional, prospectivo e analítico, envolvendo crianças com idade maior que 29 dias e menor que 9 anos em enfermaria pediátrica, avaliadas e classificadas pelo estado nutricional através das curvas de escore Z de índice de massa corporal/idade (Z IMC), escore Z de estatura/idade (Z E/I), escore Z de peso/estatura (Z P/E) e escore Z de peso/idade (Z P/I). Resultados: a amostra consistiu de 235 pacientes, com 52,8% do sexo masculino. A faixa etária prevalente foi de 29 dias a 2 anos (81,3%), diagnóstico clínico mais frequente foi de pneumonia (23,8%). A má nutrição, no momento da admissão hospitalar foi verificada em 51,9% dos pacientes. Conclusão: crianças internadas apresentam dupla carga da má nutrição, coexistindo o déficit e o excesso de peso que podem comprometer o desfecho da hospitalização.
