Purpose: To identify and characterize the innovative and sustainable actions that occur in a company in são Paulo in the fruit segment. The study was conducted in the Fava Group, a medium-sized, family-run Brazilian company settled in the municipalities of Jundiaí and Miracatu in the State of São Paulo.Methodology/approach: The research was exploratory with the use of the qualitative method. In the data collection, the techniques of interviews and documentary analysis were used. 16 interviews were conducted at the company's headquarters in Jundiaí and the production unit in Miracatu, São Paulo. The analyses were carried out based on the Flores approach (1994).Originality/Relevance: It was observed through detailed analysis, how innovation and sustainability presented interdependence relationships in the actions of these constructs in the researched company. As for its relevance, it is in its application.Main results: It was found that the company presents actions related to innovation in its production process and sustainability in the three dimensions, that is, the ecological, social, and economic systems, defined as triple bottom line.Theoretical/methodological contribution: The contributions of this research were in the association of the constructs that make up the theoretical basis involved being used and applied in the studied reality and, in the interpretation and analysis of the data, through the categories and meta categories, resulting in the system proposed by Flores (1994).Social contributions / for management: The implementations of innovative and sustainable practices are leveraged by its founder since the beginning of the Group's operations, making them a competitive differential.
O presente trabalho teve como objetivo estudar as singularidades da tecnologia da informação (TI) quanto à forma de subsidiar insumos e estruturas para a prática de Gestão de Conhecimento em empresas de pequeno porte do setor de comércio exterior de autopeças de reposição. O estudo, realizado sob a modalidade de pesquisa exploratória, selecionou 15 empresas deste setor e buscou identificar, descrever e verificar a existência e funcionalidade da gestão do conhecimento nas empresas avaliadas. A análise das respostas permitiu identificar a presença da gestão do conhecimento nas empresas, verificar qual a abordagem dada à tecnologia da informação nas organizações e, por último, procurou evidenciar o possível alinhamento ou não da gestão do conhecimento com a gestão da tecnologia da informação. Observou-se que a formação de conhecimento não é passiva e espontânea a todo momento, mas um processo baseado em fluxos que podem ser regulados por meio das estruturas organizacionais, sistemas e competências individuais dos colaboradores internos e externos.
