This study aims to: (1) determine the effect of market orientation on competitive advantage; (2) to know the effect of innovation on competitive advantage; (3) to know the influence of market orientation and product innovation together to competitive advantage; (4) the effect of market orientation on the performance of SMEs, (5) to know the effect of product innovation on the performance of SMEs, (6) to know the effect of competitive advantage on SMEs performance, and (7) to know the effect of market orientation, product innovation, and competitive advantage together SMEs. This research uses an explorative design that aims to conduct a search and reveal the factors that can be estimated as the cause of the occurrence of a condition that is not yet known the cause and the mechanism. The population in this study is the SMEs in Batam city with the type of production business with a population of 153 SMEs. The number of samples was determined using a saturated sample technique in which the entire population in the study was sampled. So the number of samples in this study was as many as 153 SMEs. From the results of the study found that market orientation has a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage. Product innovation has a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage. Market orientation and product innovation together have a positive and significant impact on competitive advantage with R2 value of 83%. The dominant variable influencing competitive advantage is product innovation with regression coefficient value 0,62. Market orientation has a positive and significant effect on SME's performance. Product innovation has a positive and significant effect on SME's performance. Competitive advantage positively and significantly influence to SMEs performance, market orientation, product innovation and competitive advantage together have positive and significant influence to SMEs performance with R2 value equal to 90%. The dominant variable affecting the performance of SMEs is the advantage of competing with the value of regression coefficient 0.47. This research offers implementation to SMEs to improve market orientation and product innovation so that it will increase competitive advantage which impact on SMEs performance.
Diabetic foot is among the most common complications of patients with diabetes. One of the known causes of foot ulceration is ankle equinus, which increases the pressure on the plantar surface during ambulation. Conversely, equinus contracture can be caused by a complicated wound, and it may be due to prolonged immobilization. In this paper, we reviewed the pathogenesis of both conditions and their clinical considerations. Poor glycemic control in patients with diabetes may result in angiopathy and neuropathy as an underlying condition. An ulcer can be precipitated by an injury, improper foot care, or increased biomechanical loading as seen in elevated plantar pressure following equinus contracture. Equinus contracture may be a direct effect of hyperglycemia or can arise in combination with another pathway, for example, involving the activation of transforming growth factor β. Static positioning resulting from any prior foot wound may develop fibrotic changes leading to contracture. Wound healing promoting factors can also result in overhealing outcomes such as hypertrophic scarring and fibrosis. The body’s repair mechanism during the healing cascade activates repair cells and myofibroblasts, which also serve as the main producers and organizers of the extracellular matrix. Considering this intricate pathogenesis, appropriate interventions are essential for breaking the vicious cycle that may disturb wound healing.
Purpose:We aimed to evaluate surgical outcomes of high-grade bursal rotator cuff-tear repairs. Methods: This systematic review was performed in May 2020 in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines using PubMed. Inclusion criteria were English-language studies reporting the results of pain improvement, functional outcome scores, and radiographic examinations after repair of bursal side partial rotator-cuff tears at any time point in patients of any age and with all levels of evidence. Exclusion criteria were articles not in English, in vitro or animal studies, epidemiological studies, and such article types as technical notes or narrative reviews. Results: Of 58 articles, five were included in this study, of which three and two had level III and IV evidence, respectively, four were comparative studies, and one was a case series. Visual analogue scales were used in four of the five studies, all showing improvement in pain assessment from 5.87 preoperatively to 1.02 postoperatively. All five studies showed significant improvement on each functional outcome score at the final follow-up. The retear rate for all studies was 10.97% (27 of 246). Conclusion: High-grade bursal side partial-thickness rotator cuff-tear repair gave satisfactory results in terms of pain scores, range of motion, and functional outcomes. The retear rate was still considerably high (10.9%), necessitating better understanding of the basic science, such as molecular mechanisms during adaptation, to improve the surgical technique.
This study aims to determine and analyze the influence of motivation, job satisfaction, and work discipline on employee performance at the Regional Secretariat of Maros Regency. This type of research is quantitative descriptive, while the nature of the research is descriptive explanatory research. The research was conducted at the Regional Secretariat of Maros Regency. The research was carried out for 3 months. The population in this study amounted to 96 employees at the Regional Secretariat of Maros Regency. The sample in this study was the total population taken as a sample. Thus the number of samples is equal to the population (census or saturated samples). So that the sample is 96 employees at the Regional Secretariat of Maros Regency. The data analysis method used in this study is multiple regression analysis. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence between work motivation, job satisfaction and work discipline on the performance of the Maros Regency Regional Secretariat employees.
The adolescent's reproductive health is the major problem that should take into consideration. To solve this problem, it needs an alternative strategy by using a media, reproductive health/kesehatan reproduksi (KEPO) game, in Android smartphone. The aim is analyzing the effect of KEPO game on the five dimensions of female adolescent's satisfaction. The research method was quasi-experiment, and the research design used pre-test post-test with control group design. The sampling technique used simple random sampling. The subject was 64 respondents of female student age of 12−15 years old in public junior high school in Bandung city. The respondents divided into two groups, the first one treated by KEPO game is 32 students of Public Junior High School 50 Bandung, while the control group was 32 students of Public Junior High School 8 Bandung, get counseling from Ujungberung Indah Public Health Center; the entire research conducted in April−May 2017. Research result shows the percentage differential of satisfaction average score improvement on both groups. The treatment group produces percentage of content 14.6%, display 23.6%, accuracy 11.4%, easiness 12.4%, and correctness 17%. In the other hand, control group produces content 5%, display 3%, accuracy 4.3%, easiness 2.8%, and correctness 4.7% with a p value for each indicator was p<0.05 on the intervention group and p<0.05 on the control one. Entirely, it known that adolescent's satisfaction from those five aspects in using KEPO game has a matter differential p<0.05, with satisfied percentage, was 84%. In conclusion, there was an effect of KEPO game on the five dimensions of female adolescent's satisfaction.
