Reaction of 3-Amhopheno1 with Potassium Iodate During the oxidation of 3-aminophenol with potassium iodate to 2a and 4a iodination in the position p to the amino group takes place in the aminophenol, in the o-position in the enamines l a and 3a. Oxidation of 3-acetaminophen01 leads to the deactivated enamines l b and 3b. The influence of the condition of reaction of iodine and the oxidation potentials of the aminophenols are discussed.
