Se realizó un estudio etnobotánico y se calculó el índice de confianza de las especies medicinales empleadas por los usuarios de la Unidad de Salud Familiar (USF) del Departamento de Caaguazú, Paraguay, buscando incorporar esta medicina al sistema nacional de salud. El estudio fue observacional, descriptivo. El método utilizado fue la entrevista, se empleó el cuestionario semiestructurado a usuarios de las USF, quienes proveyeron las muestras de plantas que reportaban como medicinales. Estas entrevistas se realizaron durante seis meses, entre los años 2015 y 2016. Para el análisis de confianza se empleó el método Uso Significativo TRAMIL (UST). Se identificaron 54 familias botánicas, que corresponden a 93 géneros y 116 especies, siendo Asteraceae la mejor representada con 17 Géneros y 21 especies. El órgano vegetal más frecuentemente empleado fue la hoja, seguido de la parte aérea y la planta entera, existiendo algunas especies de las cuales se emplean más de un órgano vegetal. El índice UST demuestra que las especies con mayor índice de consenso son las introducidas como Artemisia absinthium ajenjo, Mentha x piperita menta, Moringa oleifera moringa. La especie nativa con mayor índice de consenso fue Lippia alba salvia-rã. Las afecciones tratadas con estas especies fueron preferentemente los dolores estomacales y las enfermedades no trasmisibles como colesterol alto, ácido úrico, y estados de ansiedad. Se espera que estos datos sirvan para continuar los estudios hasta la validación farmacológica de las especies que permita el uso de plantas medicinales en atención primaria de salud.
Hábitos alimentarios y estrés académico en estudiantes universitarios durante la pandemia del COVID-19, Paraguay 2021Eating habits and academic stress among university students during the COVID-19 pandemic, Paraguay 2021
Introducción: el objetivo fue diseñar un estudio comunitario randomizado controlado multi-componente y evaluar su efecto en la prevención de obesidad en escolares del departamento de Caaguazú, Paraguay.Material y métodos: Diseño: ensayo comunitario randomizado controlado. Lugar: 16 escuelas públicas y privadas del área urbana y rural del Departamento de Caaguazú, Paraguay. Participantes e intervención: 16 escuelas serán asignadas aleatoriamente a dos grupos. Grupo intervención, recibirán un programa de educación nutricional y actividad física en el entorno escolar durante 6 meses. Grupo control, recibirán 3 charlas educativas en el mismo periodo. Medición de las principales variables: primaria (espesor de pliegues cutáneos), secundarias (z índice de masa corporal, conocimientos nutricionales, consumo de frutas y verduras, nivel de actividad física) y variables demográficas (sexo, edad, zona de residencia). Todas las variables serán medidas en la línea base y al final del estudio, utilizando herramientas calibradas, cuestionarios validados y protocolos de procedimiento. Análisis: se utilizará estadística descriptiva, además de los test t Student y chi2 para establecer diferencias. Se correrán modelos de regresión lineal y logística crudos y ajustados.Ética y diseminación: el protocolo de estudio ha sido evaluado y aprobado por el Comité de Ética en Investigación de la Universidad Nacional de Caaguazú. Se utilizarán consentimientos informados institucionales (escuelas) e individuales (padres) y asentimiento de los niños.

El instrumento fue un cuestionario de preguntas cerradas con opciones múltiples.Resultado: en cuanto a la actitud respecto a la donación de órganos el 81.9 % donaría sus órganos y el 95.1 % donaría sus órganos si es un familiar el que necesita del mismo, el 69.8 % afirmó donarían los órganos de sus familiares. La opinión de la familia es favorable para el 43.4 % es favorable mientras que el 52.2 % de la población manifestó que su religión condice con la donación de órganos. El 92.3 % está a favor de la ley Anita.
Violencia hacia el personal de enfermería durante la pandemia del COVID-19, Paraguay 2021Violence against nursing staff during the COVID-19 pandemic, Paraguay 2021 RESUMEN Objetivo: Identificar la violencia sufrida por el personal de enfermería durante la pandemia del COVID-19 en Paraguay. Material y métodos: Estudio de corte transversal en personal de enfermería de un Hospital Regional entre mayo y agosto del año 2021. Se midió la situación de violencia sufrida por el personal de Salud durante la pandemia del COVID-19. Resultados: Participaron del estudio 161 profesionales del personal de enfermería del Hospital Regional de Coronel Oviedo. El 50.3% tenía más de 35 años, el 79.4% fue del sexo femenino. El 55.9% observó violencia en su lugar de trabajo. El tipo de violencia más frecuente fue el psicológico (79.1%), siendo en su mayoría los usuarios los que realizaban las agresiones (46.6%). En el análisis de regresión logística, la violencia física ocurrió mayormente en mujeres OR=4.38 y en aquellos con antigüedad laboral entre cinco a 10 años OR=3.40. La violencia psicológica ocurrió mayormente en enfermeros con un nivel educativo mayor OR=1.54, en pareja OR=1.38 y con una antigüedad de más de 10 años OR=3.27. La violencia sexual ocurrió en enfermeros con antigüedad entre cinco a 10 años OR=4.27, del área de urgencias OR=3.56 o el área de maternidad y obstetricia OR=3.8. Discusión: La violencia hacia el personal de enfermería fue elevada durante la pandemia del COVID-19.
