A manifestação dessa alteração dá-se em surtos e com um curso crônico, com tempo limitado da lesão, na maior parte dos casos 2,3 . Do ponto de vista epidemiológico, a EAR é uma das mais comuns desordens orais, conhecida por afetar cerca de 20% da população em algum momento da vida 4 .
