Abstract:In this work the length-weight relationship and the condition factor of Oligosarcus hepsetus were analyzed in the Grande river within the Santa Virgínia Unit of the Serra do Mar State Park, State of São Paulo. The length-weight relationship was esteemed for immature, females and male, through the expression W = aL b .The parameters a and b were dear after logarithmic transformation of the data of weight and length and subsequent adjustment of a straight line to the points for the method of the minimum square. For females and males were obtained the equations of the length-weight relationships by period of the year (autumn, winter, spring and summer), using the total weight and the weight without the gonads. The factor of condition of the immature was higher than for males and females, possibly, due to the energy expense with the development of the oocytes and in smaller degree of the spermatozoids. This species presented larger values of condition factor in the autumn due to the fat accumulation and in the other stations these values decreased due to the long reproductive period. The objective of this study was to characterize the seasonally of the diet of Cichla kelberi in an artificial lake in Leme-SP, determining the food items and their relation to the sex and gonadal maturity of the fish sampled. The diet of C. kelberi presents a dynamic in three different periods: winter months were characterized by low feeding activity and a high concentration of undetermined fish; increase in feeding activity occurred in the spring, with Tilapia sp. being the dominant food item; and a high rate of cannibalism was observed in the summer and early fall. The plasticity in the composition of the diet was marked by quantity of prey available during the different periods of the year, and the reproductive period.O objetivo desse estudo foi caracterizar sazonalmente a dieta de Cichla kelberi em um lago artificial em Leme-SP, determinando os itens alimentares e as relações com os sexos e com a maturação gonadal dos exemplares amostrados.
The aim of this study was to compare the food composition of Rhamdia quelen in four distinct order rivers. It was performed at a low part at the basin of the Sorocaba river in systems classified as first (Anastácio stream), second (Nego stream), fifth (Tatuí river) and sixth (Sorocaba river) orders. Collections were performed every month between January and December of 2011. The stomach contents were examined by using the alimentary index (IAi) and compared by the non-parametric method non-metric multidimensional scale ranking (NMDS) with the Spearman rank correlation. A diet difference was observed for individuals of the smaller systems (Anastácio and Nego streams) and the larger ones (Tatui and Sorocaba rivers), represented respectively by allochthonous and autochthonous organisms compounding their diets. Marginal vegetation and its interaction with the water conditions may respond to these composition differences. Keywords: Sorocaba river basin, alochthonous items, autochthonous items, opportunist fish, Atlantic.
