RESUMO:Avaliou-se o efeito da suplementação de mananoligossacarídeo isolado e associados com ß-glucano e antibiótico em dietas de leitoas durante a fase de creche (21 aos 54 dias de idade) sobre o desempenho, características morfo-histológicas da mucosa intestinal e ocorrência de diarréia. Foram utilizadas 368 leitoas de mesma linhagem, com peso médio de 6,5 kg/unidade experimental, distribuídas em delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos: 1 -Dieta controle Dieta basal -sem suplementação, 2 -Dieta basal + 1500 g de mananoligossacarídeo ton/ração, 3 -Dieta basal + 500 g de ß-glucano ton/ração e 4 -Dieta basal + 250g Colistina ton/ração, com quatro repetições cada e 23 animais por unidade experimental. O desempenho foi avaliado pelo peso corporal, ganho de peso, consumo de ração e conversão alimentar. As características morfo-histológicas da mucosa intestinal estudadas foram altura de vilosidade, profundidade das criptas intestinais, perímetro de vilosidade e relação altura de vilosidade:profundidade de cripta do duodeno, jejuno e íleo. A ocorrência de diarréia foi observada diariamente pela avaliação da consistência das fezes. Os animais com a dieta contendo a suplementação de mananoligossacarídeo apresentaram melhora de 6,68% no ganho de peso comparada aos demais tratamentos. A utilização de MOS não apresentou diferença (<0,05) na conversão alimentar. Os tratamentos não influenciaram o consumo de ração, incidência de diarreia e as características da morfo-histológicas intestinais. A suplementação de mananoligossacarídeo proporcionou os melhores resultados de ganho de peso e peso final em leitoas de linhagem comercial no período de 21 a 54 dias de idade. RESUMO -O experimento foi conduzido em delineamento inteiramente ao acaso para avaliar os efeitos da redução de proteína (PB) e da suplementação de aminoácidos essenciais sobre o desempenho e as características de carcaça de frangos de Reduction of dietary protein on performance and carcass of broiler chickens from 1 to 21 days of ageABSTRACT -A completely randomized experimental design was carried out to evaluate the crude protein reduction of diets and essential amino acids supplementation effects on performance and body composition of male broiler chickens from one to 21 days of age. A total of seven hundred and twenty broiler chickens were used. Birds were alloted in four treatments and six replicates of thirty birds each. The diets crude protein (CP) levels were 230, 210, 190 and 170 g/kg. There was decreasing linear effect of the CP levels on feed:gain ratio, weight gain, the final weight and feed intake. Carcass fat and carcass dry matter increased linearly with protein reduction.

Egg production was evaluated in a line of meat-type quail undergoing selection for increased 21-day body weight, using random regression and compares the influence of heterogeneity of residual variance on estimated genetic parameters to the growth curve of meat quails. Six models were estimated, one for homogeneous residual variance and five for heterogeneous residual variance structures, established at intervals of 182, 112, 91, 56, or 28 days. An increase (P < 0.01) of the natural logarithm of the likelihood function, by increasing the number of heterogeneous classes was observed. The model that considered homogeneity of residual variances  was inadequate. Genetic variability was observed for egg weight with homogeneity of residual variance varying from .15 to  .32 and with heterogeneity varying from .16 to .38 in 13 partial (4-wk long) laying periods. Heritabilities for number of eggs laid and egg mass varied from .03 to .10 and .03 to .15, and from 0.01 to 0.15 and .01 to .20, respectively, with homogeneity and heterogeneity of residual variances. It is justifiable to include egg weight in the selection goals for meat-type quail. Low heritabilities values were found for egg number and egg mass but there are particular periods, especially from 99-126 days old and from 211-238 days old where selection could be effective. Peak production values for the three traits occurred between these periods.

In order to evaluate the growth performance of broiler chickens at two different facilities, conventional aviaries (with positive ventilation) and avian dark house (with negative ventilation dark curtain), this study was conducted, from data field of a poultry company located in a region with a warm climate in state of Mato Grosso, Brazil. Was evaluated the performance of broilers by body weight, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion, mortality and incidence of foot calluses. The results showed that broilers reared in dark house sheds system presented better performances for final weight, weight gain, feed intake and feed conversion. Significant reduction in the incidence of foot callus of chickens reared in conventional sheds. Regarding mortality while creating, there was no significant difference between the two technologies. So the best system, regarding zootechnical results for the keeping of chickens in hot region is the dark house system.

O objetivo deste experimento foi avaliar a digestibilidade da ração de frangos de corte a qual continha ou não antibiótico e probióticos na fase inicial (um a 20 dias) e na fase final (21-40 dias). As aves foram distribuídas em um delineamento inteiramente casualizado com quatro tratamentos: Tratamento 1- Dieta Testemunha; Tratamento 2 - Dieta Testemunha + 0,02 % de probiótico 1 (Calsporin 10®), Tratamento 3 - Dieta Testemunha + 2,0% na fase inicial e 0,63% na fase final de probiótico 2 (Estibion aves®); Tratamento 4 - Dieta Testemunha + 0,013% de antibiótico (Bacitracina de Zinco®) e 5 repetições de 10 e 8 aves por unidade experimental por fase, respectivamente. Os pintos foram criados em gaiolas de metabolismo. Os resultados demonstram que a digestibilidade de matéria seca, nitrogênio e energia metabolizável aparente não foi afetada pela suplementação de antibiótico e probióticos na dieta de frangos de corte.
