The objective of this work was to determine through the study of the accumulation march, the partitioning of macro and micronutrients in yellow Goldex melon (Cucumis melo L.) under fertigation in relation to the soil and fertilization supply. The experiment had a randomized block design with nine treatments and four replications. Each block consisted of an area of 2.0 m x 27.0 m where nine experimental plots containing 20 plants were allocated. Soil and plants samples were collected in seven-day intervals, starting 7 days after transplanting (DAT) up to 63 DAT. In each period, the accumulation of macro and micronutrients in different plant parts and soil supply were estimated. The total accumulation of nutrients in melon shoots followed the sequence: K>Ca>N>S>P>Mg>Fe> Mn> Zn> B> Cu. For macronutrients, accumulation peaks occurred at 28 DAT for N and Mg, at 35 DAT for K and Ca and 49 DAT for N, P, K and Mg. For micronutrients, accumulation peaks occurred at 35 DAT for Fe and Mn and at 42 DAT for Cu and Zn. There is a need to improve synchronism of application by fertigation with accumulation rates for the culture, for most of the studied nutrients. Demanda nutricional. Marcha de absorção. Redistribuição de nutrientes. Abstract:The melon is one of the crops that most export nutrients at harvesting, and is furthermore one of the crops that least restores nutrients to the soil, especially when the crop residue is removed from the area. The aim of this study therefore was to determine the extraction of macronutrients and micronutrients by the fruit, as well as their proportion in relation to the shoots, during development of the canary melon. The experiment was carried out in a randomised complete block design with four replications. The treatments corresponded to five periods of evaluation for the fruit: 35, 42, 49, 56 and 63 days after transplanting (DAT); and four periods for the seeds: 42, 49, 56 and 63 DAT. Plant samples were subdivided into leaves, stem, fruit (bark plus pulp) and seed. The extracted amounts of macronutrients and micronutrients were evaluated from the samples, as well as the relative proportion of nutrients in the fruit. The nutrients K, N and Ca are extracted most, both by the fruit and by the seed. For the micronutrients, the following extraction sequences
According to the results, the accumulation of dry mass in the reproductive parts was higher than in the vegetative parts, the fruits being the organs
Haplic Vertisols and Typic Quartzipsamments are among the main classes of soils used for melon production in the Brazilian semiarid region. Potassium (K) is the nutrient most extracted by yellow melon fruits and, for this reason, high doses of potassium fertilizers are often applied to these soils. This study aimed to evaluate potassium fractions in soils of the Brazilian semiarid region, during the cultivation cycle of fertigated yellow melon. Two experiments were carried out with two types of soil (Haplic Vertisol and Typic Quartzipsamment). For the Vertisol, a 7 x 2 [seven evaluation periods and two soil layers (0-20 cm and 20-40 cm)] factorial arrangement was established, with four replications, totaling 56 experimental units. For the Quartzipsamment, a 9 x 2 [nine collection times and two soil layers (0-20 cm and 20-40 cm)] factorial arrangement was used, with four replications, totaling 72 experimental units. The non-exchangeable K fraction was dominant in both soils, mainly in the 0-20 cm layer, and represents an important reserve of this nutrient for melon cultivation, especially in Haplic Vertisols. The decrease in the concentrations of the soluble and exchangeable forms and the increase in the non-exchangeable form indicated an increase in the fixation of this nutrient, by fixation in the Vertisol and leaching in the Quartzipsamment, at the end of the melon cycle, when the amount of K accumulated by the plant was lower.
This study aimed to evaluate the influence of nutrient omission on the growth and phytomass production of three tree species native to the Caatinga biome cultivated in degraded Chromic Luvisol samples, under greenhouse conditions. The experiments were conducted from april to june 2015. Three experiments were set up corresponding to three tree species [Myracrodruon urundeuva (Allemão), Caesalpinia ferrea (Mart. ex Tul.), and Amburana cearensis (AC Smith)], in a completely randomized design with eight treatments referring to the addition or not of nutrients to the soil and four replications. The results revealed that Fe and Zn supply was essential for the initial establishment of M. urundeuva and A. cearensis in Chromic Luvisols. For C. ferrea, which has a higher growth rate, fertilization with N, P, and S sources is necessary in addition to Fe and Zn in order to increase its establishment potential in these areas.
