Este artigo aborda a comunicação publicitária diante das transformações sociais, culturais e tecnológicas contemporâneas. E também o papel da Universidade Pública no ensino, extensão e pesquisa de temas sobre o consumo, publicidade e responsabilidade social. O relato sobre o Laboratório Universitário de Publicidade Aplicada (LUPA) nos levou a compreender a importância da agência experimental no processo de formação acadêmica.
Resumo O artigo analisa a cobertura do programa de TV GNT Fashion sobre as semanas de moda do Rio de Janeiro e de São Paulo para o outono/inverno 2011. Utilizamos o conceito de enquadramento, a partir de Goffman e outros autores, para pensar a relação da produção midiática com atores sociais em diferentes níveis: estilistas e marcas, comentaristas 'especialistas', celebridades, entrevistados e a audiência. A análise se concentra na construção de sentido sobre a moda brasileira, suas especificidades e sua representação social.
Este trabalho discute a abertura econômica e as recentes
configurações do consumo em antigos países socialistas. Investiga como o consumo de objetos e valores tradicionais capitalistas se justifica, a partir de quais referenciais o discurso publicitário é construído e como se articulam significados implementados durante o regime socialista com novos referenciais de cultura e economia. Acredita-se que essa abertura acompanha uma euforia pelo consumo comparada àquela que o Brasil viveu nos anos 1990, quando o neoliberalismo se firmava endossando o mercado como modelo social de liberdade e progresso, e o universo do consumo como espaço privilegiado de exercício de liberdade. A análise dessas dinâmicas se apóia em Douglas e Isherwood (2004), entendendo os bens como sistema de comunicação, pois transmitem mensagens sobre gostos, estilos, identidades e hierarquias sociais nas práticas de consumo.
