Corona virus (COVID-19) is an epidemy of respiratory disease caused by a novel corona virus and it was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) to be a global health pandemic emergency. Due to the neuropsychiatric manifestation of Covid-19 that have been associated with psychotic disorders, in this paper we choose to present a case from "Elena Doamna" Psychiatric Hospital from Galati, Romania and to correlate it with other cases from literature in a mini review presentation. In our paper, we present the case of a patient of 44-year-old men, with no past psychiatric history whose behavior included psycho-motor agitation, perception and thinking disorders, disorganized behaviour, attempted suicide by stabbing. The last perspectives from the two years of pandemic together with psychiatric disease linked the virus infections with psychosis to the main concern that Covid-19 could determine psychiatric disorders. There were also presented same literature studies of patients with no personal pathological history in the psychiatric field which developed psychiatric disorders after COVID-19 infection. SARS-CoV-2 has a psychological impact on the mental health status of the worldwide and, especially when it is associated with psychotic symptoms and can affect the quality-of-life. In some cases, the virus affected the brain and as a result, the psychosis symptoms could be an emerging phenomenon associated with the corona virus. Based on the DSM V and ICD-10 criteria, the diagnosis was of acute psychiatric disorders with symptoms of schizophrenia (F23.1). The case report and review reliefs that there is a causal link between the SARS CoV-2 infection and mental disorders, which is currently being investigated.
We report a sol–gel approach to fabricate aluminum oxyhydroxide (AlOOH)-based inks for the gravure printing of high-dielectric-constant nanocomposite films.
The paper presents some results on the effect of the metal electrode deposition on the electrical performance of amorphous polymthylmetacrylate (PMMA) thin films, measured in a MIM structure consisting of metal (Al)-insulator (PMMA)-metal (Ta). Aluminium (Al) electrode was deposited by physical vapor deposition method (PVD) on the top of PMMA film with the deposition rate of 5 and 10Å/s. The effect of aluminium deposition rate and post deposition annealing temperature on the morphology of the interface between Al electrode (100 or 300 nm thick) and PMMA thin film (40 or 70 nm thick) has been investigated by cross-section scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Based on SEM data, I-V characteristic measurements and dielectric constant values of insulating films, the deposition parameters of Al top-electrode was optimised. Our results showed that when the deposition of the Al electrode take place at a rate of 10 Å/s, no inter-diffusion or interfacial reaction at the interface between Al electrode and PMMA films were observed and the best delectric parameters of PMMA thin film were measured, which led to the best dielectric performance of PMMA layer in TFT configuration.
The world’s rapidly growing demand for raw manganese has made it increasingly important to develop methods for the economic recovery of manganese from secondary sources. The current study aims to present possible ways for the recycling and reuse of silico-manganese slag landfilled in Tulcea, City on the Danube River close to the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve in order to save the natural resources raw of manganese. In the last three decades, the ferroalloy production plant has over 2.6 million tons of slag. Slag dumping constitutes a significant source of air, water and soil pollution, which adversely affects the environment and human health. Mn present in the slag dump is an environmental pollutant with potentially toxic effects. The results obtained with a leaching method to recover manganese from slag shows two efficient ways to valorize manganese from solid fraction (54%) with size particles between 80 and 315 µm and/or reuse the leaching medium (56% Mn) with a slag size of <80 µm. The motivation of our research is the possibility to recover manganese from slag by saving natural resources of raw of manganese and the remaining fraction can be used as aggregate sources (construction and road rehabilitation by saving extract mineral aggregates and agriculture), in order to decommission the slag dump. The proposed research is in concordance with the sustainable use of natural resources for the achievement of sustainable development of the 2030 Agenda and Waste Management Legislation due of the huge ecological costs regarding non-conforming waste dumping. If we consider the cost-benefit analysis, the environmental future is more important the human health and the benefits on the quality of the population’s health and the environment which are not non-measurable in monetary value.
Bottom-up approaches in solutions enable the low-temperature preparation of hybrid thin films suitable for printable transparent and flexible electronic devices. We report the obtainment of new transparent PMMA/ZrO2 nanostructured -building blocks (nBBs) hybrid thin films (61–75 nm) by a modified sol-gel method using zirconium ethoxide, Zr(OEt)4, and 3-methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MPS) as a coupling agent and methylmethacrylate monomer (MMA). The effect of low-temperature and UV irradiation on the nBBs gel films is discussed. The thermal behaviors of the hybrid sols and as-deposed gel films were investigated by modulated thermogravimetric (mTG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) analysis. The chemical structure of the resulted films was elucidated by X-ray photoelectron (XPS), infrared (IR) and Raman spectroscopies. Their morphology and crystalline structure were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), and grazing incidence X-ray diffraction. The cured films show zirconia nanocrystallites of 2–4 nm in the hybrid matrix and different self-assembled structures for 160 °C or UV treatment; excellent dielectric behavior, with dielectric constant values within 6.7–17.9, depending on the Zr(OEt)4:MMA molar ratio, were obtained.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
