This research aims to answer how the implementation of religious character education building based on school culture and conducted a successful program at SMAN 5 Yogyakarta (Yogyakarta 5 Public High School). This study is highly important to conduct since the religious character is an essential value in the learning process in Indonesia. The research subjects consisted of school principals, teachers, and students. Determination of the subjects carried out by purposive sampling. Data collection used interview, observation, and documentation. An interactively inductive data analysis technique performed data analysis with data reduction stages, data displays, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study showed that: 1) the implementation of religious character education building based on school culture was carried out through character building based on religious values, school climate based on religious values, extracurricular activities based on religious values, as well as building relationships between schools and the societies. 2) The impact of the strengthening program of character education produces two themes as follows: the growth of students’ religious awareness and the growth of tolerance among religious communities. The findings of this study indicated the importance of the school’s cultural base in implementing holistic religious character education programs in schools. This finding also strengthens the previous research findings, which had mentioned that the religious character is an essential character for students in a secondary school in Indonesia, and also strengthen that Indonesia’s society, in general, is religious people.
The research aims to evaluate the implementation of the character education strengthening program (CESP) of vocational high schools (VHS) throughout Yogyakarta City. The evaluation is carried out in the functions of (1) planning, (2) implementation, and (3) evaluation. It is descriptive qualitative research. In this study, the researchers collected information related to the implementation of CESP that was available at the time of the research. The subjects are school principals, vice principals, and teachers. The determination of the subjects was carried out by using the snowball sampling technique. The evaluation uses the discrepancy model, which looks for the gap between planning and implementation. The research sample is four vocational high schools in Yogyakarta City. The data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data validation used the source and collection triangulation. The data analysis used the descriptive techniques, carried out during data collection and after completing data collection within a certain period. The findings show that: (1) the CESP planning consists of elements of: initial assessment, CESP socialization, vision and mission, policy design, and CESP design, with an average score of 2.74, which means that it is good; (2) the implementation the CESP consists of the elements including: development of CESP in learning, development of school culture, community participation, and implementation of the main values of CESP, with an average score of 2.98, which means that it is in a good category; and (3) the evaluation of the CESP has an average score of 2.50, which means that it is in a good category. The results of this study are recommended as the material for the consideration for mapping the implementation of CESP, determining education office policies related to character education, developing CESP models, as a reference for character research, and as materials for discussions regarding character education.
This study aims to describe the management of industrial classes in SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Ajibarang. This research uses a qualitative type with a case study approach. Research subjects were the deputy head of public relations, the deputy head of the curriculum, the head of the engineering engineering program, the head of the light vehicle engineering program and the head of the motorcycle engineering expertise program. Place of research at SMK Muhammadiyah 2 Ajibarang. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The collected data were analyzed with the model of Miles, Hubermen, and Saldana. Research data 1) Industrial class planning includes aspects of students carried out by industry and schools as the organizer. The human resource aspect is carried out by means of instructor training organized by industry to increase knowledge about the industry. The curriculum aspect is carried out by synchronizing the school curriculum with the industrial curriculum, then the aspect of infrastructure facilities is carried out by industry and schools with industrial involvement in the form of setting industry class standards and procuring infrastructure and forms of school involvement in the form of procurement. 2) The implementation of industrial classes includes learning that is adjusted to the established curriculum and the internship carried out in the industry. 3) evaluation which includes evaluating student learning outcomes, in the form of students getting certificates from the industry and evaluating the implementation of industrial classes in the form of internal meetings and visits made by schools to industry and industry to schools
Pendidikan karakter merupakan pilar utama dalam menciptakan karakter seseorang melalui pendidikan, baik itu pendidikan formal maupun non formal.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pembiasaan dan kegiatan yang biasa dilakukan oleh guru dalam pembentukan dan pengembangan karakter peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus di sekolah luar biasa Negeri Pembina Yogyakarta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa banyak kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh guru di sekolah dalam membentuk dan mengembangkan karakter peserta didik, beberapa kegiatan diantaranya kegiatan upacara bendera, gotong royong, kegiatan yang menanamkan nilai-nilai integritas, kegiatan nasionalis, dan kegiatan religius, selain kegiatan terdapat pembiasaan yang dilakukan oleh wali kelas maupun guru dalam membentuk dan mengembangkan karakter peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus antara lain: tidak bergantung pada orang tua, berbaris sebelum masuk kelas, mengetuk pintu dan mengucapkan salam sebelum masuk ruangan, segera minta maaf jika melakukan kesalahan. Implikasi dalam pembentukan dan pengembangan karakter peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus perlu dilakukan pembiasaan dan dilakukan secara terus menerus supaya lebih mudah diterapkan ketika berada di lingkungan masyarakat.
Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian dan pengembangan ini yaitu untuk menemukan model pelatihan yang efektif dan dapat diterapkan pada pelaksanaan pendidikan dan pelatihan (diklat) guru produktif Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan kelompok Seni dan Budaya. Metode penelitian menggunakan Research and Development (R&D). Desain penelitian menerapkan model "postest only with comparison group design". Teknik analisis data menggunakan analisis uji beda, analisis statistik dan analisis deskriptif. Aspek-aspek yang berpengaruh terhadap keberhasilan pelaksanaan pelatihan, yaitu kualitas: 1) nara sumber; 2) program; 3) fasilitas akademik; 4) fasilitas penunjang; dan 5) pelayanan. Penelitian ini menghasilkan model pelatihan open design. Model pelatihan open design menekankan pada peningkatan kreativitas, menumbuhkan ekspresi, menajamkan sensitivitas, dan mengembangkan inovasi. Simpulan penelitian ini yaitu dengan menggunakan model pelatihan open design terbukti dapat meningkatkan kualitas penguasaan kompetensi, kualitas karya, dan produktivitas peserta diklat. Kata kunci: pengembangan, model, pelatihan, seni dan budaya. Abstract: This research and development aimed to find out an effective training model to be applied in vocational teacher training of Vocational High School of Arts and Culture. The method used in the research was Research and Development (R&D). Its its design used was the postest only with comparison group. The data was analyzed using t-test, statistic analysis, and descriptive analysis. The variable influencing the success of training implementation are the quality of: 1) sources; 2) program; 3) academic facilities; 4) supporting facilities; and 5) services. This research and development results an open design training model. An open design training model emphasizes on increasing creativity, developing expression, sharpening sensitivity, and developing innovation. The final conclusion of the research is that the use of open design training model is proven to increase the quality of competence mastery, the quality of works, and the productivity of the participants.
One of the causes of many unemployed is that graduates do not have competencies that match the competencies needed by the world of work. The applied SMK curriculum is not in line with the competence of the business world or the industrial world (link and match), so it has not been able to meet the demands of the world of work, the business world, and the industrial world. Smk revitalization is needed to achieve a center of excellence school. The study aims to analyze the influence of (1) the quality of teachers in achieving the goals of Center of Excellence Vocational School, (2) the teachers' perception of infrastructure in achieving the goals of Center of Excellence Vocational School, (3) the teachers' perceptions of partner industries in achieving the goals of Center of Excellent Vocational School, and (4) the quality of human resources, teachers' perception of infrastructure and the partner industries support together in achieving the goals of Center of Excellence Vocational School. This study was conducted in five Vocational Schools of the Center of Excellence in Yogyakarta. The sampling technique in this research used a proportional sampling technique. The research sample consisted of 45 teachers. The method of this research was a descriptive correlation. Questionnaires collected the data, and their validity and reliability were tested. The data were analyzed by correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and variant analysis using the SPSS version 25.0 program. The research shows that: (1) teachers' quality significantly influences achieving the goals of the Center of Excellence Vocational School. It is shown by the p-value chi-square 0,000 (p<0.05), (2) the teachers' perception of infrastructure has a significant effect on the achievement of the goals of the Center of Excellence Vocational School. It is shown by the p-value chi-square 0,000 (p<0.05), (3) the teachers' perception of the partner industries does not significantly influence the achievement of the goals of the Center of Excellent Vocational School, which is shown by the p-value chi-square 0.192 (p<0.05), and (4) variables of human resources and infrastructures simultaneously have an effect in the variable of achieving the goals of the Center of Excellence Vocational School by 33.2%.
The purpose of the study was to analyze the educational background, the suitability of teacher competence or linearity, and map the professional competence of productive teachers in the Vocational School of Arts and Culture. This research is descriptive qualitative research. The research stages are; collect information related to teacher educational background, education and training data, and interviews. The research subjects were school principals, administrative heads, and teachers. Evaluation uses the discrepancy model.. The research population is principals and productive teachers of Vocational School of Arts and Culture. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validation uses source triangulation and collection. Data analysis used descriptive techniques and simple mathematical analysis. The results showed that: (1) the educational background of productive teachers; dance, musical arts, theater arts, and puppetry arts 96.67% in accordance with the legal basis set by the Ministry of Education and Culture, (2) the suitability of the competence or linearity of productive teachers according to learning materials in SMK, and (3) a map of professional competence for productive teachers; dance, musical arts, theater arts, and puppetry are 30% of teachers in the mastering category and 70% in the very mastered category. Based on passport skills, it is recommended that 8 (26.67%) teachers attend secondary level training, 9 (30%) teachers attend advanced training, and 13 (43.33%) teachers attend advanced level training. The results of the study are recommended for consideration by the relevant agencies in making policies, recruiting, improving the quality of teachers, determining teaching tasks, teaching burdens, and developing teacher coaching models.
This study aims to map the acquisition of teachers’ pedagogical competence at private vocational high schools Wanareja, Cilacap, Central Java. This research used quantitative method. We involved 60 teachers from four private vocational schools as the research subject. We delivered a Likert-scale questionnaire to assess the pedagogical competence. Then, we analyzed the data using non-parametric inferential statistics. The results showed that the pedagogical competence of private vocational school teachers in Wanareja on ten aspects of pedagogical competence had different categories in each aspect. The aspect of mastering the students’ characteristics was very sufficient (55%). The aspect of mastering the learning theory was good (44%) and very sufficient (40%). The aspect of developing a curriculum was good (48%). The aspect of organizing learning was good (63%). The aspect of using ICT in learning was very sufficient (51%). The aspect of developing the students’ potential was good (44%). The aspect of effective communication and politeness was good (63%). The aspect of conducting an assessment was sufficient (53%). The aspect of utilizing the results of the assessment for the benefit of learning was very sufficient (53%). And finally, the aspect of doing reflective action was sufficient (68%). The implementation of the pedagogical competence of private vocational school teachers in Wanareja has not been evenly distributed in all aspects of competencies and efforts to improve teacher pedagogical competence has not been maximized.
