Leukemia limfositik akut merupakan tipe leukemia yang paling banyak terjadi pada anak-anak yaitu sekitar75-80%. Kemajuan pengobatan kemoterapi pada pasien leukemia limfositik akut telah meningkatkan angkakeberhasilan hidup. Akan tetapi, lama kehidupan yang dapat dicapai oleh pasien belum diiringi dengan pencapaiankualitas hidup yang lebih baik akibat efek sekunder kemoterapi terhadap fisik dan psikososial pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan kualitas hidup anak leukemia limfositik akut yang menjalani kemoterapi. Penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional dilakukan pada 25 anak secara consecutive sampling. Pengumpulan data menggunakan PedsQLTM 4.0 Generic Core Scale dan peran perawat (Cronbach α = 0,90). Analisis data menggunakan korelasi Pearson dan uji t independen untuk mengetahui hubungan antar variabel serta regresi linear berganda untuk mengetahui faktor yang paling berhubungan dengan kualitas hidup generik. Hasil menunjukkan terdapat hubungan fase kemoterapi dan peran perawat dengan kualitas hidup generik(p<0,05). Peran perawat merupakan faktor prediktor kualitas hidup generic. Dengan demikian diperlukan upaya peningkatan peran perawat melalui pendidikan pelatihan terkait manajemen kemoterapi dan efek sampingnya.Kata kunci: Fase kemoterapi, kualitas hidup generik, peran perawat.Factors that are Related to Quality of Life of Children with Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia who Undergo ChemotherapyAbstractAcute lymphocytic leukemia is a type of leukemia that is most prevalent among children which is around 75-80%. The progress of chemotherapy for acute lymphocytic leukemia has increased the survival rate for this cancer. However, the length of life of the patients is often not accompanied by the better quality of life due to chemotherapy side effects towards patients’ physical and psychosocial conditions. This study aimed to identify factors that are related to the quality of life of children with acute lymphocytic leukemia who undergo chemotherapy in Dr. M.Djamil Hospital, Padang. Quantitative research with cross sectional approach was used to study 25 children who wererecruited using consecutive sampling. The data collection was conducted using PedsQLTM 4.0 Generic Core Scaleand nurses roles (Cronbach α = 0,90). The data analysis uses Pearson correlation and independent t-test to examinethe relationships between variable and multiple linear regression to identify the factor that is most related with the generic quality of life. The results showed that there was correlation between chemotherapy phases and nurses roles with generic quality of life (p<0.05). Nurses roles is a predictor factors for generic quality of life. Thus, there is a need to improve nurses’ roles through education and training regarding chemotherapy management and its side effects.Keywords: Chemotherapy phases, generic quality of life, nurses’ roles.
The role of mother in management of diarrhea is very important that is expected can reduce morbidity and mortality rate cause diarrhea. In this study we attempted to assess the correlation between mother's characteristic based on age, education level, occupational status, and economic status with knowledge about management of diarrhea to children under five. It has done from March 1 st-August 9 th 2004 with 97 respondents. The design was a cross sectional study with simple random sampling. Data was collected by guided interview with quisioner and analysed by distribution of frequency table and tested by chi-square method. From this study, there was 55,7 % are in old group (31-45 year's old); 45,4 % respondents had low education; 90,7 % respondents were not active; 57,7 % were poor. Generally, the knowledge of respondents about management of diarrhea to children under five 58,8 % were bad. We conclude that there was significant relation between age, education level, and economic status with knowledge about management of diarrhea to children under five. Thus, it's need to improvement of mother's knowledge by informations to the people.
Resilience is an essential element to be built in the nursing profession in order to overcome challenges and difficulties in the workplace. Relationship and effective support that comes from family, friends and peers are factors that influence resilience. To examine the relationship between social support and nurse resilience. This research applied a quantitative design with cross sectional approach. The samples were taken by proportional random sampling and 110 nurses were chosen as the samples. The instruments in this study were CD-RISC 10 and MSPSS with modified. There is a relationship between social support and nurse resilience. Suggestion: Hospital management may design an innovative and creative programs to increase nurses’ perceived social support such as family gathering programs, family hospital tour programs and mentoring as an effort to increase their resilience
Pendahuluan: Permasalahan yang timbul akibat HIV/AIDS sangat kompleks, diantaranya masalah fisik, psikologis, sosial dan spiritual yang mempengaruhi kualitas hidup. Ini dapat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup orang dengan HIV/AIDS (ODHA) sehingga memerlukan dukungan keluarga. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui hubungan dukungan keluarga dengan kualitas hidup pada ODHA. Metode: Jenis penelitian deskriftif analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional study. Penelitian dilakukan di Lantera Minangkabau Support Padang selama 18 hari dari tanggal 23 Desember 2014 – 09 Januari 2015. Besar sampel 106 orang yang diambil secara accidental sampling. Hasil: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebanyak 63 orang (59,4%) responden mendapatkan dukungan yang baik dari keluarga dan 61 orang (57,5%) responden memiliki kualitas hidup yang baik. Uji chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan antara dukungan keluarga dengan kualitas hidup ODHA (p=0,000). Diskusi: Maka disimpulkan jika dukungan keluarga baik, kualitas hidup ODHA juga baik. Oleh karena itu perlu melibatkan keluarga dalam pertemuan-pertemuan untuk memotivasi.
Dukungan suami merupakan indikator pendukung keberhasilan program pemberian ASI eksklusif. Untuk itu kesadaran suami agar mau melibatkan diri dalam hal pemberian dukungan kepada ibu selama proses pemberian ASI sejak awal kelahiran perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara dukungan suami dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif di Wilayah Kerja Puskesmas Lubuk Kilangan Kota Padang. Jenis penelitian adalah deskriptif korelasi dengan rancangan cross sectional study. Penelitian dari bulan Agustus 2010 sampai Juni 2011. Sampel diambil secara acak menggunakan teknik cluster sampling dengan jumlah sampel 82 orang ibu. Instrumen pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji chi square dan logistic regression. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa dukungan instrumental dan penilaian bernilai positif sedangkan dukungan emosional dan informasional bernilai negatif. Selanjutnya terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara dukungan emosional, instrumental, informasional, dan penilaian suami terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif. Dukungan penilaian merupakan variabel yang paling tinggi kekuatan hubungannya terhadap pemberian ASI eksklusif (b=0.119). Peneliti menyarankan agar tenaga kesehatan memperluas sasaran promosi kesehatan yang berhubungan dengan pemberian ASI eksklusif yang melibatkan suami sebagai sasaran. Kata kunci : ASI eksklusif, dukungan suami, dukungan penilaian. Abstrak: Husband's support is an indicator of the success of programs supporting exclusive breastfeeding. So the consciousness of the husband involving themselves in providing support to the mother's during the process of breastfeeding since the beginning of birth needs to be improved. The study aimed to determine the relationship between husbands support and exclusive breastfeeding in the Lubuk Kilangan Public Health Center, Padang. It is a descriptive correlation design using cross-sectional study. Research held from August 2010 until June 2011. Sampling technique was cluster sampling with 82 mothers. Data was obtained using questionnaire. Analysis data used chi square tests and logistic regression test. The results showed that instrumental and appraisal support was positive whereas emotional and informational support was negative. Then, there is a significant association between emotional, instrumental, informational, and appraisal support and exclusive breastfeeding. Appraisal support was the highest variable related to exclusive breastfeeding (b= 0119). Researchers suggest that expanding health goals related to health promotion of exclusive breastfeeding involving the husband as the target.
Pendidikan kesehatan dengan media booklet merupakan upaya meningkatkan kemampuan merawat Infeksi Saluran Pernapasan Akut (ISPA). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas pendidikan kesehatan terhadap pengetahuan dan kemampuan ibu dalam perawatan balita ISPA antara Puskesmas Padang Pasir dan Pauh. Metode yang digunakan adalah preeksperimental dengan pretest posttest design. Subjek penelitian adalah ibu dengan balita ISPA berjumlah 15. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon untuk menilai perbedaan pengetahuan dan kemampuan merawat pada pretest posttest dan Mann Whitney-U untuk menilai perbandingan antar Puskesmas. Hasil penelitian diperoleh perbedaan pengetahuan dan kemampuan merawat balita ISPA sebelum dan setelah pendidikan kesehatan dengan (p=0,002). Lebih lanjut terdapat perbedaan efektivitas pendidikan kesehatan antara Puskesmas Padang Pasir dengan Pauh pada kemampuan merawat (p=0,004). Oleh karena itu pendidikan kesehatan tentang ISPA dengan media yang lebih menarik seperti booklet perlu diberikan terutama pada ibu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kemampuan merawat balita dengan ISPA.
Background The mobile health (mHealth) application encourages parents and pediatric patients to be involved in caring for their child's health condition by providing the ability to identify and manage chemotherapy-induced symptoms in their child actively. Several monitoring systems available today are diverse in terms of features and system basis. This study aimed to develop and trial the Chemo Assist for Children (CAC) mHealth application for symptom management due to chemotherapy in children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL). Methods In this study, the development of the CAC application went through four phases. The initial phase was conducting a literature study for application content. The application design phase involved five experts to validate application content. In the implementation phase, the application was piloted on ten parents with ALL children undergoing chemotherapy at two teaching hospitals, Indonesia. At the evaluation stage, the CAC application was improved according to the test results. The data were obtained descriptively from the validation and application testing using the average and total item scores. Results Phase 1 obtained 17 reference sources in textbooks and research journal articles to design the mHealth application content. Phase 2 received the value of the content validity of all statements was 0.96, which means that the application material is declared valid. In phase 3, the average total usability test score was 4.28. Finally, an evaluation phase was applied continuously to produce a valid, accessible, and appropriate application for users. Conclusions The CAC mHealth application developed can meet the needs of technology users to identify symptoms and manage symptoms due to chemotherapy in children with ALL. The CAC mHealth application can accommodate data not recorded at out-of-hospital care, increase the independence of symptom management, and improve communication between parents of children with ALL and health workers.
