Abstract: Perceptions and habits of digitalnatives on teaching and learning with DICT at school and in non-school environments. Digital information and communication technologies (DICT) have become widely inserted in society, but in the school environment, there seems to be some distance of it from the classroom. This article is about the current generation of students, digital natives, their perceptions and habits in relation to teaching and learning with DICT. It aims to identify how use such technologies for their learning, in school and outside the school context, as well as to analyze their perceptions regarding the use of DICT by their teachers in teaching strategies and in relation to their learning. It involved three schools in Lajeado, RS, covering 12 classes of Elementary School. Data were collected through the Google Forms platform and analyzed by descriptive statistics. It can be identified that students use the Internet to study while they are out of school, but the prioritized content refers to leisure and entertainment activities. More than half of the students reported not being able to perform formal tasks, such as formatting texts (50.6%) and sending emails (59.7%). Regarding the teachers' pedagogical practices, it was observed that the students hardly perceive them using different DICT in class. Concerning learning, students feel more involved and judge more efficient the strategies in which technologies are present.
Technology is permeating the lives of people daily, becoming present in the different spaces that we inhabit. In the classroom it can serve the teachers' practices and be a powerful ally when it comes to improving various contents. This article aims to subsidize initial years teachers of Elementary Education to develop pedagogical situations with the use of educational software with their students, bringing digital technology closer to the classroom. For that, a didactic sequence was elaborated, which in its entirety can be considered an educational product, containing pedagogical proposals for the development of living beings contents in the initial years, through the use of five free access software. The material developed comes from the activities of students of postgraduate courses (masters and doctorates) of a community institution in the municipality of Lajeado, State of Rio Grande do Sul. The first software (Mentimeter) was explored with the graduate students, through pilot testing in the classroom and subsequent collection of reports via WhatsApp. It was verified that the participants considered the experience valid and believe that it is potent to be developed with the students of the initial years of Elementary School, allowing greater involvement and the promotion of more dynamic and participative classes.
Abstract:We are in the midst of a highly connected generation, due to the popularization of the Internet. It brought social networks, especially Facebook. This article deals with science fairs as spaces favorable to the evocation of metacognitive thinking fostered by the development of scientific research. It aims to highlight the skills unleashed in student researchers regarding participation in science fairs. It involved ten teachers and 133 students of Basic Education, from public and private networks, approached at a science fair held at a university in RS. Data were collected using a Likert questionnaire and recorded interviews, analyzed using descriptive statistics and the phenomenological method. It was evident that the evocation of metacognitive thinking was present throughout the process of scientific research, which culminated in the science fair. These revealed to be spaces of phenomena, because when constituted, they allow the student to evaluate himself and recognize his own learning, as well as, identify gaps to be improved. Thus, they result in the triggering of intellectual skills, contributing to the personal and social development of student researchers.
