Estudos em todo o mundo apontam para a ocorrência de padrões de mobilidade distintos entre mulheres e homens, que são explicados, em grande parte, pela divisão sexual do trabalho. Este esforço de pesquisa objetivou caracterizar essas diferenças para a realidade urbana brasileira. Para isso, inicialmente foram levantadas hipóteses acerca das desigualdades na mobilidade por gênero e sua relação com a divisão sexual do trabalho. Para cada hipótese levantada, indicadores foram definidos e estimados com base nos mais recentes dados de pesquisas OD domiciliares de três capitais brasileiras, representando regiões distintas do país. Os resultados obtidos para cada capital foram então comparados e discutidos, assim como analisada a evolução temporal das desigualdades na mobilidade por gênero em São Paulo, entre 2007 e 2017. Conclui-se que há evidências empíricas para validar a maioria das hipóteses levantadas, mostrando que de fato há diferenças nos padrões de deslocamentos de mulheres e homens no meio urbano brasileiro.
Em Fortaleza, tem-se observado um crescimento das desigualdades socioespaciais na acessibilidade às oportunidades de trabalho. Não se sabe, entretanto, o impacto do mercado de trabalho informal nessas desigualdades. Portanto, o objetivo geral deste artigo é caracterizar espacialmente as diferenças nos níveis de acessibilidade ao trabalho formal e informal da população de baixa renda em Fortaleza. Inicialmente, estimou-se a distribuição espacial dos indivíduos de baixa renda e das oportunidades de empregos formais e informais direcionadas a eles. Em seguida, mensurou-se os níveis de acessibilidade a cada tipo de emprego através da seleção de um indicador que buscasse incorporar a competitividade por essas oportunidades de trabalho. Finalmente, comparou-se as diferenças observadas, buscando avaliar como essas variam sobre o território. As análises corroboraram a hipótese de que os níveis de acessibilidade aos empregos informais da população de baixa renda são relativamente melhores que aos empregos formais. Também se verificou que, dentre os empregados informalmente, os trabalhadores domésticos estão sujeitos aos piores níveis de acessibilidade.
Com o aumento da atenção ao transporte não-motorizado, a modelagem do tráfego de pedestres em travessias urbanas tem sido tema crescente na literatura. Uma das principais medidas de desempenho utilizadas para avaliar o desempenho operacional de travessias é o atraso, que é definido como o tempo de espera dos pedestres para iniciar a travessia. Duas das principais ferramentas de modelagem para estimar o atraso médio dos pedestres são o Highway Capacity Manual - HCM e software de simulação, como o VISSIM. O objetivo principal deste trabalho é comparar essas duas ferramentas para estimação do atraso médio de pedestres em travessias semaforizadas. Para isto, foram analisadas duas travessias de uma interseção localizada na cidade de Fortaleza. Concluiu-se que, quanto maior for a quantidade de brechas aceitas pelos pedestres durante o vermelho, mais realista será a modelagem realizada com o VISSIM em comparação com a proposta pelo HCM, já que a modelagem proposta para o simulador considera este tipo de comportamento dos pedestres.
Representar as desigualdades socioespaciais no acesso às oportunidades de trabalho envolve desafios em incorporar a complexidade dos elementos dos subsistemas de uso do solo e transportes envolvidos nesse fenômeno. Diante disso, o objetivo principal deste artigo é comparar representações dessa problemática em Fortaleza a partir da utilização de diferentes métricas de acessibilidade. Essa comparação foi feita considerando quatro tipos de indicadores: tempo médio de viagem às oportunidades, indicador de oportunidades cumulativas, tempo de equilíbrio emprego-população e logsum. As quatro representações obtidas foram comparadas quanto ao padrão espacial da acessibilidade, à distribuição dos níveis de acessibilidade entre os indivíduos, e aos valores de acessibilidade média e de sua variabilidade por região. Pelos resultados, três dos quatro indicadores apresentaram padrões semelhantes quanto aos aspectos analisados. Já o indicador de tempo de equilíbrio, ao incorporar a competitividade em sua formulação, representou distintos padrões, tanto espacialmente, quanto entre os indivíduos e entre as regiões.
