RESUMO -Este trabalho foi conduzido com o objetivo de caracterizar o perfil microclimático da carga de caminhões de transporte de frangos de corte sob condições comerciais durante o inverno, por meio do monitoramento constante das variáveis ambientais (temperatura e umidade relativa do ar) e das perdas na chegada na linha de abate. Foram monitorados três carregamentos, da saída das aves da granja até a chegada ao abatedouro, considerando fatores como a distância (perto, média e longa) e os turnos (manhã, tarde e noite). Para obtenção do perfil das variáveis ambientais durante a carga dos caminhões, foram instaladas miniestações meteorológicas (Loggers) que permitiram determinar o microclima a que as aves foram submetidas e visualizar o perfil do índice entalpia de conforto, que possibilitou a classificação das regiões da carga de acordo com os limites de conforto térmico para frangos de corte na sexta semana. Os dados de temperatura, umidade relativa do ar e do índice entalpia de conforto na carga foram analisados utilizando-se a geoestatística pelo método de krigagem ordinária. O turno da tarde foi o mais crítico do ponto de vista ambiental, e as partes central e traseira da carga do caminhão foram as mais problemáticas para as aves, do ponto de vista microclimático, portanto, as mais propícias à ocorrência de perdas.Palavras-chave: avicultura, bem-estar animal, operações pré-abate Poultry transport: microclimate characterization of the truck during the winter ABSTRACT -The objective of this study was to characterize the the microclimatic profile of broiler chicken transport trucks under commercial conditions, in the winter by continuous monitoring of environmental variables (temperature and relative air humidity) and deaths on arrival (DOA´s). Three loads were monitored, from farm to slaughterhouse, considering factors such as distance (short, medium and long) and periods of the day (morning, afternoon and night). To obtain the environmental variables profile in the trucks during the journey, data loggers were installed in the trucks that determined the microclimate to which the birds were submitted and allowed the visualization of the Enthalpy Comfort Index (ECI) so that the lorry regions could be classified according to heat comfort limits for six-week old poultry. The temperature, relative humidity and ECI in the truck were analyzed using geostatistics, by the ordinary kriging method. -The aim of this work was to analyze the effect of temperature and light intensity on trumpet flower seed germination, as well as the effect of seeding depth on its emergence. To study the influence of temperature, nine temperature intervals were evaluated, ranging from 15.0 to 40.0 o C. A randomized block design experiment was used with five replications and 20 seeds per replication, and performed twice. To evaluate light intensity on seed germination, a randomized experimental design was used with eight replications and 25 seeds per replication. The treatments applied were: photoperiod with temperature alternation; photoperiod with constant temperature; darkness with temperature alternation; and darkness with constant temperature. The photoperiod consisted of 8 hours of light and 16 hours of darkness, and the constant temperature was 25 ºC. The treatments with temperature alternations were established with 8 hours at 30 ºC, and 16 hours at 20 ºC. Germination was assessed daily to calculate the total percentage of germination as well as the Germination Velocity Index (GVI). To study the influence of seeding depth on plant emergence, 25 seeds were seeded at 0, 20, 40, and 80 mm in pots with sieved soil. The experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with four replications. Seedling emergence was monitored daily until the 15 th day after seeding. After that period, the total percentage of emergence was calculated for each experimental unit, as well as the Emergence Velocity Index (EVI). Formation of normal seedlings and the Germination Velocity Index were different among temperatures and higher germination percentages were observed between 20.3 o C and 37.5 o C. Tecoma stans seedlings did not germinate when planted at 40 and 80 mm depth. However, the seedlings placed on the soil surface had an emergence percentage of 72. At 20 mm depth, the emergence rate was 31%.Keywords: temperature, light, photoperiod, photoblastism. Concerning the reduction of preslaughter death losses, high temperature and relative humidity in the tropics
Resumo-O objetivo desse trabalho foi avaliar a influência de texturas contrastantes (argilosa e areia franca) na lixiviação de diuron, hexazinone e sulfometuron-methyl em formulação comercial (D+H+SMM) e aplicados isoladamente, quando submetidos à 0 e 40 mm de simulação de precipitação. O experimento consistiu na aplicação de diuron + hexazinone + sulfometuronmethyl (1386,9 + 391 + 33,35 g ha-1), hexazinone (391 g ha-1), diuron (1386,9 g ha-1) e sulfometuron-methyl (33,35 g ha-1) em colunas de solo montadas em tubos de PVC. Um dia após a aplicação, metade das colunas recebeu simulação de precipitação de 40 mm e a planta daninha Ipomoea triloba foi semeada. Aos 21 e 30 dias após a semeadura foi feita avaliação de porcentagem de controle. Para o solo de textura argilosa, os herbicidas D+H+SMM e hexazinone chegaram a aproximadamente 10 e 13 cm de profundidade com 0 e 40 mm, respectivamente. No solo de textura arenosa, a lixiviação desses herbicidas foi evidente até os 20 cm de profundidade, com 40 mm de precipitação. Para os herbicidas diuron e sulfometuron-methyl as lixiviações tenderam a se aproximar para o solo de textura argilosa com 40 mm e para o solo de textura arenosa nas duas simulações de precipitação. Hexazinone e D+H+SMM foram os herbicidas que apresentaram maior tendência de lixiviação, facilitada no solo de textura arenosa. Já a lixiviação dos herbicidas diuron e sulfometuron-methyl foi baixa, o que expõe a influência do hexazinone na lixiviação da formulação comercial avaliada.
