NURSES' CONCEPTIONS ABOUT PEDIATRIC ONCOLOGY CARE TRAININGABSTRACT: The objective of this study is to identify the conceptions of nurses who work with Pediatric Oncology concerning how their training and the further search for knowledge influences their professional practice. It is a qualitative, exploratory type study with semistructured interviews applied to six nurses. The results were submitted to thematic analysis, which converged to the category, "Subsidies that influence the Pediatric Oncology Nursing Care production". The results show that pediatric oncology performance demands professionals with responsibility, commitment, adequate preparation, and sensitivity to take care of the child at hand. Care production has been grounded in the individual experiences of nurses and individual pursuit of knowledge, demonstrating the difficulties encountered in the training process and the importance of professional training. It is believed that these findings may support nursing training with a problematzing perspective and be able to promote comprehensive, humane, and efficient care for children diagnosed with cancer.DESCRIPTORS: Professional competence. This is an integrative review that aimed to identify the repercussions of childhood cancer for the family caregiver. The research was done in the databases LILACS, PubMed, SciELO, Adolec and Cochrane, searching articles in English, Portuguese and Spanish; published between 2005 and 2010; using the descriptors: caregivers, children, cancer and nursing. Eighteen articles was found. Through the analysis four themes were identified: feelings experienced by family caregivers; physical repercussions and psychological distress of family caregivers; financial impact of childhood cancer in the caregiver's life, and need for social support to family caregivers. It was concluded that the damage to the caregiver's life can weaken the relationship between child/caregiver, determining the need of effective performance of the health team to offer support, guidance and monitoring.
The purpose was to analyze the needs of the family companion that follows the child in the chemotherapy unit from the standpoint of the child in treatment. It was a qualitative study. We used the adaptation of drawing-story with themes for the production of empirical data from seven children with cancer. The analysis was done using a thematic interpretation. For children, the family needs are: to incentive to change among family members as caregivers of the child; counseling and training for all family members who accompany the children; comfort for the family to remain with the child; autonomy for the family; take care the healthy sibling; environment that provides closeness between unmarried parents to support the child in treatment. It is essential to expand the focus of care restricted to children with cancer, broadening also the attention of nursing's team to family.

The feeling and emotions experienced in this trajectory, such as guilt, punishment and sin, were revealed between the lines of the caregiver. Conclusion: The conceptions of care are a boon, a feeling of exclusive dedication to the child with cancer. In the discourse analysis it was possible to dive into the feelings and the relationship of ambiguity experienced by the parents, who often feel overwhelmed and powerless, but who do not accept being replaced in their role as caregiver. The aim of this study was to comprehend the meaning of using illness narratives to raise awareness among nursing students and healthcare professionals toward the family-centred care model. The adopted methodological framework was Qualitative Content Analysis based on the philosophy of Family-Centered Care. Data were collected by means of assessments provided by 29 participants at an event in 2013, in São Paulo. The resulting analytical category was "transformed by the family narrative", which consisted of three sub-categories: Favours a better understanding of the family's experience; facilitates learning of family issues; and triggers thought on family-centered care.
