guarantees that, within a certain discrete time, the response of a nonlinear sampled-data system will be within a specified percent of its equilibrium value. Also in this chapter, various methods are given for analyzing the periodic, or near periodic, oscillatory modes of nonlinear discrete systems. All of these methods are very descriptive and somewhat difficult to use. The last two chapters are concerned with pulse-width modulated systems and quantized sampleddata systems using the methods of Chapter 7. A very practical and simple method is given for analyzing the stability of pulsewidth modulated systems having low-order continuous parts. The method given for systems with high-order continuous parts is very tedious and difficult to use. The discussion of quantized sampled-data systems in many areas is unclear and could be improved.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
