Through this study we aimed to explore how primary school teachers were able to adapt their teaching practices in the online context during the COVID-19 pandemic and which were the protective factors that contributed to the development of resilience. We focused on their self-assessment of online teaching quality and investigated its correlation with their level of resilience. In measuring the resilience levels of primary school teachers we have taken into account risk and protective factors. Thus, we observed that social and family support had the greatest influence on the formation of resilient attitudes among teachers. The majority of the teachers that participated in this study scored a high and very high level of resilience. We obtained a positive correlation between the chosen variables: primary school teachers' level of resilience and their self-assessment on the quality of their own online teaching during the quarantine caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The concept of educational organizational climate relates to the relational, social, psychological, affective, intellectual, cultural and moral environment that characterizes educational/teaching and managerial activity at the level of a school organization. This study is based on the theory of planned behavior framework in measuring preschool teachers’ intentional integrative–qualitative behaviors and Marzano’s Model of Teaching Effectiveness. The Marzano Model outlines educational strategies and gives teachers and administrators tools to help teachers become more effective. A sample of 200 valid responses was gathered in an online investigation that targeted preschool educators from Romania. Marzano’s Model of Teaching Effectiveness is an evaluation tool used to measure the success of highly effective teachers, which is further utilized in this study to measure preschool teachers’ effectiveness in relation to intentional integrative–qualitative behaviors. The integrative–qualitative intentional behaviors are measured with the IQIB scale. This research assumes collegiality and professionalism as independent variables and interrogates preschool teachers’ behavioral intention toward adopting integrative–qualitative behaviors through the sequential mediators of Planning and Preparing, Reflecting on Teaching and Classroom Strategies and Behaviors from a top-down perspective. The results revealed a significant indirect effect of Collegiality and Professionalism on preschool teachers’ behavioral intention toward adopting intentional integrative–qualitative behaviors through the sequential mediators Planning and Preparing, Reflecting on Teaching and Classroom Strategies and Behaviors, confirming our hypothesis. Discussion and implications are offered from a top-down sustainable educational management perspective.
Recent studies have shown that the educational approaches based on the Theory of Multiple Intelligences are efficient and should be applied frequently in the classroom. Through this study, we set out to determine which are the parents' opinions regarding the optimum age to discover the configuration of the profile of intelligence of children and adolescents. Thus, we carried out an online survey. The online questionnaire was filled in by 507 parents. The study revealed that parents are interested to discover the dominant intelligences of their children, in order to choose appropriate extracurricular activities and to identify a suitable career for them. The results obtained indicate a strong desire of parents to understand children's strengths using a digital application based on the content of the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, developed by Howard Gardner. The results of the study are useful for school principals, teachers, and researchers in the educational sciences.
The open educational resources (OER) are those resources which make reference to categories of educational materials which are in the public domain or which are available to readers by open licenses, so for which the access is free. A few examples of OER are school textbooks, curriculum, syllabi, course supports, audio-video resources. Given the multitude, diversity and complexity of OER, and the fact that many times there are no objective and thorough conventions and regulations of selection, access, filtration and evaluation of them, specific selection and evaluation strategies must be identified. This article is guided by the following questions: a) What are the intrinsic qualities that the web educational resources should have? b) How could we support with instruments the persons interested in the selection, study, and evaluation of web educational resources? Starting from these questions, we offer an operational instrument/checklist of evaluation of the intrinsic quality of OER, and a series of landmarks for the primary evaluation of OER, as a component of the primary evaluation of e-resources.
Through this study, we set out to find out what teachers can do to be effective and to generate positive learning experiences for all students. The main research question from which our study started was related to the actions that teachers can take to strengthen their relationship with students and to design and carry out relevant and authentic teaching and learning activities. We were also interested in determining which of the educational activities where members of the community were invited were real and unforgettable learning opportunities for the students. An important aspect for optimizing the activities of the teacher is related to the ability to ask for feedback. The feedback received from students is a useful tool through which the quality of the teaching-learning-assessment process increases considerably.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
