A produção brasileira de suínos traz retornos positivos ao agronegócio, mesmo com fatores prejudiciais ao meio ambiente que ocorrem devido ao potencial poluidor dessa atividade, em razão do manuseio inadequado do esterco suíno. Reduzir esses impactos requer o uso de sistemas eficientes e sustentáveis de tratamento de resíduos. O objetivo deste estudo foi analisar a viabilidade econômica da implantação de um sistema de biodigestor para o tratamento de resíduos de uma planta de criação de 1.500 porcas, possibilitando a produção de biogás como fonte alternativa de energia elétrica limpa. Para tanto, utilizou-se de pesquisa bibliográfica sobre a temática e do desenvolvimento de cenários possivelmente realísticos. Dois cenários de investimento foram comparados: I) 20% de patrimônio e 80% de financiamento; e II) 100% do patrimônio líquido. Concluiu-se que os investimentos também são sustentáveis e economicamente viáveis nas duas situações, sendo o II o mais vantajoso, que apresentou menor risco com base na TIR, VPN e IL calculadas.
O objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar a viabilidade econômica da produção de linhaça marrom em três anos safra para a inserção desta na atividade agrícola em Dourados-MS. Para isto, foram utilizados dados primários de produtividade, obtidos através do experimento conduzido na área experimental da UFGD com três genótipos de linhaça marrom: Aguará e Caburé-INTA/argentina e UFSC/Brasil, cultivados em três anos safra: 2016/2017, 2017/2018 e 2018/2019. O custo de produção foi realizado a partir dos dados obtidos no experimento conforme os custos de produção de culturas de Inverno da CONAB. Para avaliação da viabilidade do investimento, foi mensurada a taxa mínima de atratividade (TMA), o fluxo de caixa que envolve a produção de linhaça, bem como os indicadores econômicos: taxa interna de retorno - TIR, valor presente líquido-VPL, tempo de retorno e o índice de lucratividade - IL. Verificou-se que a produção de linhaça marrom é economicamente viável ao agricultor e pode ser uma nova alternativa para compor os sistemas agrícolas de Dourados/MS.
Mundialmente, a agricultura convencional é vista como emissora de gases de efeito estufa (GEEs). Já a agricultura de conservação é capaz de mitigar os GEEs e, potencialmente, gerar créditos de carbono. Este estudo objetivou analisar os aspectos normativos e as perspectivas para regulamentação do mercado de carbono brasileiro agrícola, por meio de bases de dados científicos e governamentais. Concluiu-se que o Brasil, apesar da participação nas discussões internacionais e dos significativos avanços institucionais e normativos, carece de aplicação e um maior rigor no cumprimento das legislações ambientais relacionadas à mitigação dos GEEs. Dessa forma, o país tem condições favoráveis à implantação de um mercado de carbono agrícola. Contudo, para que isso se torne uma realidade, faz-se necessário o incremento de parcerias público-privadas e políticas regulatórias mais abrangentes aos diversos segmentos do setor.
