Abstract:The purpose of this article is focused on the design and development of an accessible mobile app of individual navigation and location for elder people with visual disability. To develop the mobile application, it was used as methodology Extreme Programming, el Universal Design, integrated technologies of WebService, PHP, MYSQL, Java and Apache. The app allows to know the man's location and share it within many users providing security and facilitate a better inclusion of the use of technology to this kind of population. Finally the article shows results obtained from a pilot test through the user's experience in different scenarios.
Abstract. The purpose of this paper is to present the design of an interactive system with learning scenes with augmented reality for helping to support hearing impaired students of high school in biology area. The methodology used was Prototypes and the Centered Design of the User, which allowed the use of the natural device of Kinect® and AR for mobile devices like tablets and smartphones with Android. Finally, it is presented the achieved results from a pilot test to a focal group of hearing impaired students, the user experience and the usability of the system.
Abstract. The purpose of this article is to present the design and development of an Adaptive System like a help tool for the development the communicative oral and written Competence in the visually disabled students. The methodology used was the prototypes and the design centered in the user, it was used the learning objects and interfaces natural of the users like the Kinect of Microsoft. For the development was used the technologies of OpenNI of Kinect, MySQL, Greenhouse SDK, C++, C# and was to integrate to converter text-voice (TTS) in Java. Finally, is present the results obtained in the pilot test with focal group technique of students with visual disability under different settings of use and learning.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
