A b s t r A c tThe purpose of this article is to explore the Knowledge Management Maturity Model (KMMM) in big companies that are pioneers in the implementation of KM practices in Medellin, Colombia. The KMMM integrates the Funcionalist and Interpretivist perspectives on knowledge management and consists of four key areas: Organization and People, Processes, Technology, and Interpretation. Cluster analysis helped establishing the ranges of the five maturity levels: Initial, Awareness, Defined, Managed, and Optimized. The results showed that only two companies overcame the "Defined" level, and the best performance was achieved in the Technology key area. In conclusion, the companies have difficulties at going further the implementation of basic KM initiatives and achieving a higher level of maturity associated with the articulation of KM practices with business processes and a higher degree of appropriation and usage by individuals. This may occur because of the preponderance of the Functionalist approach in the business context and the low level of penetration and integration with the Interpretivist perspective of KM. The article presents a general model of crowdsourcing maturity (MGMC), focused on measuring the maturity of managerial, behavioral and technological aspects that support the activities of crowdsourcing in organizations. As methodology, it was used a systematic literature review, taking into account the low number of research publications and the low number of literature reviews prescribing practices of Crowdsourcing Maturity Models. It has been developed an assessment tool that accompanies this model to facilitate practical applications. The results of this study indicate that the maturity model developed can serve as a useful tool to describe and guide the efforts to implement such concept, providing a clear description of the current situation, and guidelines to follow. To assess its validity and improve generalization, future research can apply the Crowdsourcing Maturity Model proposal to different contexts
This paper answers the question how to evaluate the maturity of Knowledge Management (KM) in thirty-one organizations of the Departments of Antioquia and Caldas, articulating the functionalist and interpretive positions. This multivariate cluster analysis technique and a methodology that provides an algorithm that makes semi-quantitative qualitative variables from a Likert scale questionnaire applied to a fourteen variables used. The results allow us to obtain the final ranking of firms in both regions by interpretable clusters according to certain traits,-organizational and people, technological and interpretative Knowledge Management processes-that influence the concept of maturity KM. One of the main findings is the whole instrument, which is designed to position itself as an easily understandable self-assessment instrument. And later, it will be put online, to allow comparisons with world class companies.
