The mini-cuttings productivity in clonal mini-garden using the semi-hydroponic system is a promising technique for the olive propagation, to obtaining a satisfactory amount of cuttings and with good quality. The objective was to evaluate the mini-stumps productivity and rooting of olive mini-cuttings in successive collections at different times of year in a clonal mini-garden in a semi-hydroponic system. In each collection the productivity of the clonal mini-garden was evaluated counting the collected cuttings. The mini-cuttings were prepared with 3-5 cm long with leaf area reduced by 50% and placed in plastic boxes with vermiculite for a period of 80 days. The evaluated variables were: mini-stumps productivity, mini-stumps and mini-cuttings percentage of survival, rooting percentage and number and length of mini-cuttings root. The olive mini-cuttings presented higher productivity during the spring of 2014. The mini-cuttings rooting percentage collected during the evaluated periods demonstrated that mini-cutting is a viable technique for olive propagation when grown in clonal mini-garden using a semi-hydroponic system.
The objectives were: a) to evaluate the initial development of olive ministumps in semi-hydroponic and conventional systems; b) evaluate the productivity ministumps in successive collections and the rooting of minicuttings of olive tree collected at different times of the year clonal mini garden cultivated in semi-hydroponic and conventional systems. The cultivation systems used were the semi-hydroponics and conventional, to which was evaluated for 90 days of cultivation the initial growth of ministumps. After that began the collection of plant material in cropping systems. The variables analyzed were: the initial growth of ministumps, productivity, the percentage of survival and rooting, the number and length of roots and also found the survival of rooted minicuttings of cropping systems. The cultivation of olive ministumps in semi-hydroponic system is more efficient in minicuttings productivity than the conventional system. The minicuttings collected in separate semi-hydroponic system collecting time showed the best results for the variables analyzed in relation to the conventional system of cultivation.
The objective of this study was to evaluate the growth of micropropagated blueberry and raspberry seedlings under conventional and soilless cultivation systems. Seedlings of two blackberry cultivars (Xavante and Tupy) and two raspberry cultivars (Heritage and Fall Gold) were submitted to two cultivation systems: the conventional system and the soilless system. Under the conventional system, they were kept in polyethylene bags containing H. Decker® substrate and were irrigated with nutritive solution every 15 days. Under the soilless system, they remained in plastic flowerpots containing sand and were irrigated with nutritive solution daily. In regards to shoot length, the Xavante, Tupy, Heritage and Fall Gold cultivars showed the best results under the soilless cultivation system. As for number of lateral shoots, the Xavante, Heritage and Gold Fall showed significant results under the soilless system, unlike the cultivar Tupy, which showed better results under the conventional system. The soilless cultivation system is suitable for the development of the blackberry 'Xavante' and 'Tupy' and the raspberry 'Heritage' and 'Fall Gold' mini-cuttings
This study aimed to evaluate the effect of the presence and absence of light provided to the mother plant and zeatin concentrations in vitro establishment, to reduce oxidation and promote the establishment of olive explants. The trials were carried out at the Fruit Tree Propagation Lab, Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil. In the first experiment, plants of olive 'Arbequina' were subjected to the absence and presence of light and established on WPM with 0 and 2mg.L-1 zeatin. In the second experiment, plants of olive 'Leccino', 'Arbequina' and 'Frantoio' 'were submitted to the absence of light, and established in vitro on WPM with 0,4 and 8 mg.L-1 Zeatin. Mother plants of olive tree 'Arbequina' in conditions of absence of light are the most suitable in vitro establishment. The concentration of 2 mg.L-1 of zeatin promotes survival of explants of olive 'Arbequina'. The concentrations 0,4 and 8 mg.L-1 of zeatin) results no difference between Leccino and Arbequina cultivars for the variable fungal contamination.
There is a lot of information on the peach tree culture. However, it still lacks an efficient system for the seedlings production that guarantees genetic and sanitary quality, resulting in high productivity. The objective of this study was to determine the optimum rooting time for Prunus minicuttings to obtain clonal rootstocks. The installation of an experiment happened to check the viability of propagation by herbaceous minicuttings of the rootstocks, using Flordaguard, Okinawa, and the Capdeboscq canopy cultivar on different evaluation days (20, 30, 40, 50, and 60 days). Each treatment consisted of four replications of 20 minicuttings. The experiment consisted of preparing herbaceous minicuttings of approximately three to five centimeters, containing two buds and a leaf cut in half, with a bevel cut at the apex and transverse at the base of the mini-pile and two superficial lesions on opposite sides of the base. Later, they were immersed in a solution of 2000mg L-1 of indolebutyric acid (IBA) for 10 seconds and placed in transparent plastic containers containing medium-granulated vermiculite, previously moistened. Afterward, they were placed in greenhouses under controlled temperature. At 50 days, the highest percentage of rooting observed in the cultivar was Flordaguard (70%). The other cultivars resulted in a lower percentage of rooting on different evaluation days.
