Siguiendo la línea de los trabajos que inciden en el papel de los recursos personales como factores de protección frente al estrés, la presente investigación pretende analizar la relación entre la autoestima y la percepción de estresores académicos en el contexto universitario. En concreto, analizamos en qué medida los niveles de autoestima (alto, medio y bajo) influyen diferencialmente en el grado en que el estudiante valora como amenazantes diversas circunstancias propias del día a día académico. Se evalúan también qué factores de este contexto son los que el estudiante percibe como más estresantes. Participaron en el estudio 465 estudiantes de Fisioterapia de diversas universidades españolas. Para la medida de la autoestima, se empleó la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg. Los estresores académicos percibidos se evaluaron mediante la Escala de Estresores Académicos (E-CEA), que forma parte del Cuestionario de Estrés Académico (CEA). Nuestros resultados indican que las intervenciones en público, los exámenes y las deficiencias metodológicas del profesorado constituyen, por este orden, los principales sucesos que el estudiante percibe como amenazantes. Asimismo, se constata que cuanto mayor es la autovalía del estudiante, menor es la percepción del contexto académico como estresante.
Adoptando un enfoque centrado en la persona, el presente trabajo de investigación tiene como principal objetivo identificar posibles perfiles motivacionales basándose en la combinación de metas académicas (orientadas al aprendizaje y orientadas al rendimiento) y expectativas de autoeficacia. Bajo la hipótesis de que la implicación del alumno no solo depende de la combinación de metas de aprendizaje sino también del nivel de expectativas de autoeficacia, se encuesta a 1858 estudiantes de cinco universidades públicas españolas (con una media de edad de 21 años) y distintas titulaciones. En la línea de investigaciones previas, los resultados indican que el perfil en el que predominan las metas de aprendizaje está asociado a mejores resultados que otros. Sin embargo, los resultados de esta investigación añaden información nueva, lo que sugiere que las expectativas de autoeficacia tienen un papel central en la relación entre metas y rendimiento.
Este trabajo pretende analizar si existen o no diferencias estadísticamente significativas en algunas variables motivacionales y de implicación en los deberes escolares, en función del curso y del nivel de rendimiento académico. La muestra se compone de 535 participantes de 4º, 5º y 6º de Educación Primaria (de 9 a 13 años). Según el rendimiento académico, los resultados de la presente investigación indican que los alumnos con mayor rendimiento no sólo realizan más cantidad de deberes sino que además gestionan mejor el tiempo que dedican a ellos, los perciben más útiles e, incluso, están más motivados intrínsecamente hacia los mismos. Respecto del curso, los resultados demuestran que la actitud hacia los deberes escolares empeora y la motivación intrínseca e interés por los mismos disminuye a medida que los estudiantes avanzan en la escolaridad. También a medida que avanzan de curso los estudiantes dedican más tiempo a la realización de los deberes y la gestión de ese tiempo va siendo cada vez peor.
En el presente trabajo se analiza la estructura factorial de las Escalas de Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff en estudiantes universitarios. Participaron en el estudio 1,402 sujetos, que fueron distribuidos aleatoriamente en 2 submuestras homogéneas independientes: una de calibración y una de validación. Diversos modelos teóricos propuestos por la investigación previa fueron objeto de análisis factorial confirmatorio. Nuestros resultados indican que el modelo de 4 factores de primer nivel (autoaceptación, dominio del entorno, propósito en la vida y crecimiento personal) es el que muestra mejores indicadores de ajuste a los datos empíricos. Se discuten los resultados a la luz de las implicaciones teóricas y empíricas de estos hallazgos.
El principal objetivo de este trabajo es comprobar si hay diferencias en algunas variables vinculadas con las actitudes hacia las matemáticas en estudiantes de Educación Primaria en función del curso y del género. La muestra está integrada por 897 estudiantes de 5º y 6º curso de Educación Primaria (50.2% chicos y 49.8% chicas). Los resultados de este trabajo indican que los chicos, en comparación con las chicas, tienen una competencia percibida más alta en matemáticas, están más motivados extrínseca e intrínsecamente y muestran unos niveles de ansiedad más bajos ante esta asignatura. En cuanto a las diferencias en función de la variable curso, los resultados indican que los estudiantes de 5º curso tienen una competencia percibida más alta para las matemáticas, las perciben más útiles, están más motivados intrínsecamente hacia esta asignatura y también muestran unos niveles de ansiedad y unos sentimientos negativos hacia las matemáticas más bajos que los estudiantes de 6º curso. Por tanto, las mujeres parecen mostrar un “perfil” de condiciones menos adaptativo que el de los hombres, tanto con respecto a su competencia percibida como a su motivación hacia las matemáticas y también en cuanto a las emociones asociadas a esta materia. En cuanto a las diferencias según el curso, los estudiantes de 5º de Primaria son los que presentan unas condiciones actitudinales y motivacionales mucho más positivas que los estudiantes de 6º curso.
