Em geral, diferentes tempos de prática de treinamento podem se associar com alterada resposta neuromuscular em esportistas, durante períodos de fadiga aguda e recuperação pós-esforço. O presente trabalho foi proposto para analisar o desempenho eletromiográfico de músculos extensores do joelho após fadiga e protocolo de resfriamento muscular em universitários com diferentes históricos de prática esportiva. Os participantes (n=24) foram distribuídos em dois grupos, segundo experiência prática: G1 (6,60±0,70 anos) e G2 (11,57±0,44 anos); os procedimentos de eletromiografia foram realizados em músculos extensores do joelho durante um exercício isométrico em cadeira extensora. Não foram verificadas diferenças nas comparações entre grupos (p>0,05). Considerando-se o momento de análise, as medidas de root mean square (RMS) dos músculos vasto lateral e vasto medial foram maiores no momento pós-resfriamento, comparado aos momentos inicial e pós-exaustão (p<0,001). Não foram encontradas alterações na força muscular. Em conclusão, o desempenho eletromiográfico de músculos extensores de joelho não é afetado pelo histórico de prática esportiva em atletas universitários.
RESUMOIntrodução: A fadiga muscular aguda (FMA) pode ser definida como uma condição em que a musculatura esquelética apresenta-se incapaz de manter ou produzir uma força esperada. Algumas manifestações clínicas da FMA estão sendo diretamente associadas ao exercício físico. Podendo ocorrer uma diminuição do desempenho e da tolerância ao esforço, sendo necessário o afastamento dos atletas de suas atividades. Existem inúmeros métodos de recuperação, entre elas a recuperação passiva se destacou entre os treinadores e fisioterapeutas. Para avaliar a exaustão e recuperação da atividade muscular a eletromiografia se tornou um método de avaliação fidedigno. Objetivo: Analisar o processo de exaustão e a recuperação da fadiga muscular após a recuperação passiva em atletas de diferentes modalidades esportivas por meio de parâmetros eletromiográficos. População e métodos: estudo experimental de delineamento longitudinal, desenvolvida na Universidade Federal de Mato Grosso do Sul (UFMS). Participaram 27 atletas, com idade entre 18 e 25 anos. Aplicou-se um protocolo experimental com teste exaustão e recuperação passiva. Resultados: os valores de RMS e Fmed demostraram diferença significativa na comparação dos momentos dentro dos grupos e não representou diferença estatística na comparação entre os grupos no momento e momentos, refletindo assim semelhanças no comportamento geral do músculo durante o protocolo de exaustão. A recuperação passiva demostrou-se pouco efetiva para duas das três modalidades avaliadas. Conclusão: a eletromiografia é extremamente eficaz na identificação da fadiga muscular e para representação da recuperação da mesma. A fisioterapia deve utilizar cada vez mais este instrumento tanto na pesquisa quanto na prática clínica.
Introdução: Devido à realização de várias lutas em um mesmo dia, a exigência física que o atleta passa é muito alta, podendo resultar em fadiga muscular. Para o rendimento não ser prejudicado é importante uma recuperação muscular de curta duração. Objetivo: Compara o efeito da imersão da água fria e da água quente na recuperação de curta duração da força muscular e no desempenho físico em atletas de judô. Metodologia: Este estudo foi aprovado pelo Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa em Seres Humanos (CEP/UCDB; parecer 3.063.294, CAAE 03447818.0.0000.5162). Participaram da pesquisa 14 atletas de judô de Campo Grande/MS, com idade entre 18 e 25 anos, com no mínimo quatro anos de prática esportiva e que estavam em atividade. Foram realizados três procedimentos experimentais: recuperação passiva. imersão em água fria a 5ºC. imersão em água quente a 40ºC. A coleta de dados ocorreu em três momentos, um para cada protocolo experimental (a ordem de execução dos protocolos foi aleatorizada), e com intervalo de uma semana entre os momentos. Os indivíduos realizaram a avaliação da força de preensão palmar, utilizando um dinamômetro eletrônico, e o desempenho físico se deu com uso de um handgrip ajustável, o teste de esforço teve o tempo cronometrado até a exaustão. Resultados: Avaliando a força de preensão, todos os grupos apresentaram diferença significativa (p<0,05) comparando a força inicial com a força pós-fadiga e a força pós-fadiga para as forças de recuperação. apenas o grupo controle não apresentou diferença significativa (p>0,05) entre a força de preensão inicial e as forças de recuperação. já avaliando o desempenho, apenas a imersão em água fria apresentou queda do desempenho inicial para ofinal (p<0,05). Conclusão: A recuperação passiva se mostrou mais eficaz na recuperação de curta duração da força muscular, recuperando a força de preensão inicial. A recuperação passiva e a imersão em água quente foram eficazes mantendo o desempenho subsequente. Palavras-chave: Fadiga muscular. Aptidão física. Força de mão. Esportes.
