Introdução: Pacientes que são acometidos pela COVID-19 podem reduzir a força muscular periférica, a depender da gravidade e tempo de internação, podendo influenciar negativamente na independência e autonomia. Objetivo: Conhecer o perfil sociodemográfico e a força muscular periférica por meio da escala Medical Research Council (MRC) de pacientes pós COVID-19. Metodologia: Estudo do tipo transversal, descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa através da análise de prontuários eletrônicos de pacientes com diagnóstico de pós COVID-19, internados na Unidade de Cuidados Continuados e Integrados (UCCI) do Hospital São Julião, localizado na cidade de Campo Grande, no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), entre os meses de março de 2021 a março de 2022. Os dados coletados foram informações a respeito do perfil sociodemográfico e escores do MRC na admissão e alta. Resultados: 81 prontuários participaram da pesquisa, com maior prevalência do sexo masculino (44; 54,3%), idade média de 52,1 anos (DP±13,2), raça branca (51;63%), casados (40;49%), e escolaridade nível fundamental completo (20; 24,7%). As ocupações mais prevalentes foram dona de casa (12; 15%), empregada doméstica (8; 10%) e serviços gerais (8; 10%). Entre as comorbidades prévias, 39 (48%) pessoas apresentavam Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica (HAS), 31 (38,2%) obesidade e 17 (21%) Diabetes Mellitus (DM). O tempo em dias de internação na unidade de reabilitação foi mediana de 24 dias (1º quartil: 17 dias e 3º quartil: 37 dias) e em relação a avaliação da força muscular pelo escore do MRC, houve diferença significativa entre os valores de admissão e alta (p=0,001). Conclusão: O perfil de pacientes pós COVID-19 atendidos na UCCI do Hospital São Julião da cidade de Campo Grande/MS são adultos do sexo masculino, raça branca, casados, com baixa escolaridade, apresentando comorbidades prévias e em ocupações relacionadas à serviços essenciais. Estes pacientes permanecem internados entre 17 e 37 dias na unidade de reabilitação, sendo que grande parte recebe alta com força muscular periférica considerada normal.

Metodologia: Estudo do tipo transversal, descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa através da análise de prontuários eletrônicos de pacientes com diagnóstico de pós COVID-19, internados na Unidade de Cuidados Continuados e Integrados (UCCI) do Hospital São Julião, localizado na cidade de Campo Grande, no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), entre os meses de março de 2021 a março de 2022. Os dados coletados foram informações a respeito do perfil sociodemográfico, clínico e resultado da EMU na admissão e na alta hospitalar. Resultados: 81 prontuários foram identificados no período proposto e dentre as características dos pacientes pós COVID-19 foi observado idade média de 52,1 anos (DP±13,2) com maior prevalência do sexo masculino (44; 54,3%), raça branca (51;63%), casados (40;49%), escolaridade nível fundamental completo (20; 24,7%) e com história de comorbidades (Hipertensão Arterial Sistêmica (HAS) 39; 48%; obesidade 31; 38,2%; Diabetes Mellitus (DM) 17;21%). As ocupações mais prevalentes foram dona de casa (12; 15%), empregada doméstica (8; 10%) e serviços gerais (8; 10%). O tempo de internação na UCCI foi mediana de 24 dias (1º quartil: 17 dias e 3º quartil: 37 dias) e em relação ao nível de mobilidade pela EMU houve diferença estatisticamente significante entre os valores de admissão e alta (p<0,001). Conclusão: O perfil de pacientes pós COVID-19 atendidos na UCCI do Hospital São Julião da cidade de Campo Grande/MS são adultos do sexo masculino, raça branca, casados, com baixa escolaridade, apresentando comorbidades prévias e em ocupações relacionadas à serviços essenciais. Estes pacientes permanecem internados entre 17 e 37 dias, onde grande parte recebe alta com marcha semi independente.
Introdução: Pessoas com baixo nível socioeconômico e grupos minoritários raciais/étnicos têm sido consideradas mais vulneráveis a infecções da COVID-19 e mais propensas a hospitalizações. Internações prolongadas diante da gravidade da infecção levam a quadros de imobilidade e como consequência, perda da independência nas atividades básicas de vida diária (AVDs). Objetivo: Conhecer o perfil sociodemográfico e o nível de independência nas AVDs por meio do Índice de Barthel em pacientes pós COVID-19. Metodologia: Estudo do tipo transversal, descritivo, retrospectivo, com abordagem quantitativa através da análise de prontuários eletrônicos de pacientes com diagnóstico de pós COVID-19, internados na Unidade de Cuidados Continuados e Integrados (UCCI) do Hospital São Julião, localizado na cidade de Campo Grande, no Estado de Mato Grosso do Sul (MS), entre os meses de março de 2021 a março de 2022. Os dados coletados foram informações a respeito do perfil sociodemográfico, clínico e resultado do Índice de Barthel na admissão e na alta hospitalar. O tempo de internação na UCCI foi mediana de 24 dias (1º quartil: 17 e 3º quartil: 37) e em relação ao Índice de Barthel houve diferença estatisticamente significante entre os valores de admissão e alta (p<0,001). Conclusão: O perfil de pacientes pós COVID-19 atendidos na UCCI do Hospital São Julião da cidade de Campo Grande/MS são adultos do sexo masculino, raça branca, casados, adeptos a alguma religião, com baixa escolaridade, apresentando comorbidades prévias e que permanecem internados entre 17 e 37 dias, onde grande parte recebe alta com independência nas AVDs.
Objetivo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar os efeitos da crioterapia por imersão (CI) sobre o desempenho sensório-motor de esportistas após protocolo para indução de fadiga muscular localizada. Método: O presente estudo teve caráter experimental e delineamento prospectivo e teve participação de 36 esportistas universitários que foram divididos em três grupos: grupo recuperação passiva (RP), grupo crioterapia por imersão a 5ºC (CI5º) e grupo crioterapia por imersão a 10ºC (CI10º). Todos os grupos foram submetidos a protocolo de fadiga de membro inferior dominante em cadeira extensora. Posteriormente, o RP foi mantido em repouso, enquanto os demais grupos foram submetidos à imersão em água gelada a 5ºC e 10ºC, respectivamente, durante 10 minutos. Para avaliação do desempenho sensório-motor, foi utilizado o teste de equilíbrio (YBT), que foi realizado antes e no decorrer de 120 minutos após indução de fadiga. Resultados: Embora os resultados absolutos não tenham mostrado diferenças significativas entre os grupos, em termos relativos (%), o CI5º mostrou menor desempenho sensório-motor do que RP, o que foi mais acentuado no membro não-dominante. Todos os grupos obtiveram maior desempenho no YBT após 120 minutos de recuperação, quando comparado aos primeiros momentos de análise. Conclusão: Em conclusão, pode-se afirmar que o protocolo de CI de 5ºC durante 10 minutos aplicado após indução de fadiga neuromuscular resultou em menor desempenho sensório-motor no YBT, em comparação com o método de RP.
