Atmospheric Transmissivity of the Global Radiation in the AmazonicRegion of Mato Grosso Between April to September (dry season) occurs higher indexes of atmospheric transmissivity due to the low attenuation of solar radiation by interaction with atmospheric constituents, with higher frequencies of sky condition IV and II. The sky coverage conditions are dependent on regional rainfall behavior and show differentiated average percentage between the municipalities in the amazonic biome.
Annual variation of the equilibrium moisture content and the color of Amazonian woods submitted to field trialsABSTRACT The equilibrium moisture content (EMC) and the wood color of ten species of the Amazon region was submitted to fiel trials (open sky), in the Mid-North of Mato Grosso State, Brazil, during one year (dry season from May to September; rainy season from October to April). The samples with dimensions of 2 x 2 x 10 cm (thickness, width and length) were placed on a metal platform, inclined to 12° to face the North. Monthly, samples were collected for evaluation of EMC (based on the relationships between wet weight and dry weight), while for color characterization, The CIELa*b* system was used to define the parameters L* (brightness), a* (green-red coordinate), b* (yellow-blue coordinate), C* (chromaticity), h (ink angle) and • E (total color change). The EMC monthly averages showed no differences between species, however, were significant when grouped in classes of basic density. The lower levels of EMC were observed on the dry season, independent of the species, due to the reduction of the relative humidity of the air. Reductions of L*, C*, a* and b* were observed after the period of exposure to the environment. The woods of amescla and cedro had the highest and lowest value of • E, due to the low basic density and the low values of the initial colorimetric parameters (before exposure), respectively. ENOS INFLUENCE IN THE ANNUAL RAINS OF THE REGION AMAZON OF MATO GROSSO STATE ABSTRACT:The amount and spatial and temporal distributions of rainfall determine the type of natural vegetation, agricultural exploration potential and availability of water resources. However, the rainfall are directly dependents to the general circulation of the atmosphere and changes in your behavior. On a global scale, the major influences are the result of the El Niño-Southern Oscillation (ENSO) and its different phases/intensities (El Niño - EN; La Niña - LN), which determine the precipitation anomalies in several regions. Given the large agricultural faculty of Mato Grosso State, Brazil, aimed to evaluate the influence of EN and LN phenomena for the watershed of the rivers Juruena, Teles Pires and Xingu, located in the Amazon region. The regions of the sources of river (High) of the three watershed have similarity in total annual rainfall. The different intensities of EN and LN cause greater influence in the rates of annual rainfall in the Teles Pires Watershed. EN-Intensive causes reductions in total annual rainfall in the lowlands (mouth rivers) of the three watersheds. LN-Intensive provides increase in annual rainfall regardless of the Teles Pires River region. LN-moderate reduces the total annual rainfall regardless of the watershed. Keywords: watersheds, climatic variability, spatial distribution. DOI:
This work characterizes the temporal and spatial distribution of Fungal Attack Potential (FAP) for wood in Mato Grosso state, Brazil. The meteorological data of temporal series of 7 years (2008)(2009)(2010)(2011)(2012)(2013)(2014) were used, from 30 automatic weather stations (AWS 's) of the stations network of the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). The monthly average of air temperature and the number of days with rain over than 0.30 mm the month were used. The interpolation by Arcgis 10.0 software was used, with FAP discretization in months, dry and rainy and annual season. The results showed a great variation of FAP to Mato Grosso, with the highest and lowest rates, occurred in January and July. In the dry season, there is a low potential wood deterioration by the fungus (FAP between -2.70 to 3.40). In contrast, in the rainy season, FAP ranged from 16.60 to 25.90, depending on the concentration of days with precipitations over 0.30 mm. The total annual sum of FAP ranged from 119 to 198, and the north of the state showed the highest values by having high rainfall rates. It is recommended attention on drying and storage of wood in the rainy season (October to April) to the North, Northwest, Northeast and West of Mato Grosso state.
