This study aims to analyze and determine students' critical thinking skills on the material of the reproductive system. The method of this research is descriptive quantitative. The sample of this research is 98 students. The data is an analyzed test question. Instruments use critical thinking skills, according to Ennis. Data analysis technique using descriptive analysis. The data analysis results showed that students' critical thinking skills were the highest category (72.12%). The dominant is based on the data analysis, a high category in making strategies and tactics (82.36%) and providing further explanations (79.34%). Providing an elementary clarification of 66.42% and inference 71.05% is enough. The lowest was found in basic support skills (60.03%). Overall, students' CTS was high. But that is needed to be improved. Therefore, the teachers must provide test questions with more varied learning models.
Breastfeeding in the Islamic religion is a very importing. In the Qur'an mentioned, the period of breastfeeding in the teachings of Islam is two years. Word of Allah, Mothers shall suckle their children for two full years, that is for those who want perfect breastfeeding, (Surah al-Baqarah: 233). It is confirms that be a mother there is obligations for give intake best be breastfeeding for fruit his heart in range time particular. However thereby still many mothers who have difficulty. Breastfeeding her baby. Not only breast milk, breastfeeding food also need attention in the fulfillment of nutrition for growing children. Toddlers with less nutritional problems can cause disease, high risk of death compared to healthy children. One of the causes of low nutrient low in infants is the lack of knowledge of balanced nutrition held by mothers. Therefore, efforts to improve nutrition of one toddler with nutrition health education for mother under five. Activities have been carried out training exclusive breastfeeding and solids which meet the criteria of balanced nutrition at one of the community learning centers in Bandung. It can be seen from the activities that assisted Society more conscious will Importance breastfeeding difference formula with breast milk so if community assisted more priority to give milk to their babies. The community considers that the implementation of counseling is going well and according to their expectations, interesting and not saturated to be heard. Presenters was able to master and can explain in great detail extension materials and can answer all the questions raised by the participants.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the achievement of science-technology-religion-engineering-arts-mathematics (STREAM) aspects on products made by students. The product in question is in the form of a report of a Plant Anatomy structure model project. This research uses The Static-Group Comparison Design. Purposive sampling was carried out on 39 Biology Education students of class A in semester IV with project assignments without intervention through the STREAM approach (regular class). The intervention class, 38 students of class C in semester IV with project assignments using the STREAM approach (intervention class). Each student designs and creates one of the structure models of either roots, stems, or leaves. Students also make the project report, where the project report assignment guideline is in the form of a performance task. The research instrument of this study is an analytical rubric along with a score of 0 - 4 with certain criteria and field notes. The data measured in this study is the percentage of achievement on certain criteria. The results showed that the engineering aspect was the strongest in the intervention class, reaching the "excellent" category in the intervention class of 100%. The regular class reached 64.10% with the "good" criteria in the engineering aspect. The art aspect is the weakest in both classes with varying criteria. The achievement of criteria in the intervention class showed better results than the regular class. The STREAM approach can be applied to Biology Education students through the assignment of a Plant Anatomy structure model project.
The research aims to describe the PDR Plant Morphology learning process, conduct a performance assessment of student image products, and the obstacles faced by students. Qualitative descriptive research method using a sample of one class selected purposively totaling 39 students. The practicum uses a combination of E-Knows Learning Management System (LMS) facilities and other online systems. The research instruments were in the form of rubrics and performance scoring on image products, questionnaires, interview formats, video records of observation activities, and practicum notes. Descriptive data analysis and percentages made on certain criteria. The PDR process includes eight practicum titles through observation of plant parts guided by PDR performance assignments and research instruments. The results of the performance assessment of the image product show a tendency to increase the criteria very well. The student's constraints are mainly regarding the availability of plant materials in the environment and the suitability of the images with plant materials. Students are able to independently do PDR, try to find plant materials around their environment, look for alternative materials, and look for information about plant materials.
Learning online during pandemic COVID-19 must still accommodate creativity. This study aimed to identify the level of student creativity using the STREAM (Science-Technology-Religion-Engineering-Arts-Mathematics) approach. It was conducted on an online practicum in the Plant Anatomy course. The purpose of this study was to identify the level of student creativity in various indicators of creativity through a performance assessment of the product of the practicum report. The static-group comparison design was used as the research design. The target population is the fourth-semester student in the Department of Biology Education. The samples were chosen using purposive sampling, determining class IV-A (39 students) as a regular class and class IV-C (38 students) as intervention one. The research was equipped with creativity performance tasks, rubrics with a scoring of practicum reports' performance assessments, and field notes. Each student designs and makes one of the anatomical structural models of roots, stems, or leaves. The practicum report was used to identify their level of creativity. The data were analyzed by calculating the creativity level percentage in a qualitative descriptive manner. The results showed that the creativity level of the intervention class is excelling (57.89%), while the regular class the emerging (58.79%). The STREAM approach provides a better level of creativity.
This study was intended to analyze the effect of the ethnosciencebased Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on scientific thinking skills in reproductive system material. This research is a quasiexperimental design in the form of a pretest-posttest non-equivalent control group design. This research was conducted at class XI MIPA students for the 2022/2023 academic year in Sumedang. The research instruments used were pretest-posttest sheets and questionnaires. The data collection technique used in this study included a test of 15 essay questions and a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used is the normality test, independent sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results showed that the students' scientific skills increased significantly after applying the ethnoscience-based learning model on the material of reproductive system. The independent sample t-test obtained p-value = 0.000 <0.05, which was significantly different between the posttest and pretest scores. N-Gain also obtained an average of 0.75 which indicates an increase in students' scientific skills in high category. The results of students' responses to learning with the ethnoscience-based PBL model on students' scientific thinking skills were included in very good category with an overall percentage of 82.5%. This study concluded that students' scientific thinking experienced an increase after learning through the ethnoscience-based PBL model on the reproductive system material.
Student activeness and interaction between teacher and students during the learning process is still lacking so that it can affect student learning outcomes. The objectives of this study are: (1) to find out how the learning process of the sensory system uses the ARCS model, (2) find out how to improve student learning outcomes in the material sensory system with and without the ARCS model. The method used is a quasi-experimental study with a form of nonequivalent control group design. The procedure is done by giving a pretest, implementing learning, giving posttets, and drawing conclusions from the results of research. Analysis of research data includes normality test, homogeneity test, hypothesis test and N-Gain test. Data were obtained from 15 pretest and posttest multiple choice questions. Based on the analysis results obtained tcount = 2.26 and table = 2.00 at a significance level of 5%. It can be concluded that the ARCS Model has a positive effect on improving student learning outcomes in the material sensory system.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
