An open talk about sexual matters has become a taboo thing for most societies, and it is no exception for Tenggerese society. Through the internalization of traditions, Tengger ancestors gave their encoded message to children and adolescents on the subject of life, including sexual issues. The symbolism of sexual education was beautifully and courteously transmitted through the dance gestures of the Sodoran Dance. This research aimed to reveal the symbolic messages of the Sodoran dance that employs folklorism approaches and cultural studies. The collecting and analysis of data are done by ethnographic to unfold deeply and holistic to the culture of the Tenggerese people through the presentation of their view of life. This research shows that every part of the Sodoran dance represents the origin of human life which is from male and female meetings, marriage, birth, until the journey of human life. The Tenggerese adolescents’ exposure in the dance is reflected cultural transmission tendencies, a form of recognition, learning, and an expression of room in culture to grow more and more love of culture. More specifically, Sodoran dance is essentially a form of sexual education for the Tenggerese adolescents.
This study is to describe the form of speech acts, the function of speech acts, and the effects of perlocutionary speech acts that appear in the oration activity of revoking the Omnibus Law Job Creation Act in Samarinda. This study uses the referential method, which is a method where the determinant is in the form of a reference or reality designated by language. The next method is the pragmatic matching method, the determining method is the speech partner. The results of the analysis of locutionary, illocutionary, and perlocutionary speech acts in the oration of the revoking of the Omnibus Law Job Creation Act in Samarinda showed that the speech contained a locutionary speech act in the form of a statement. Locutionary speech acts also found illocutionary speech acts with the types of assertive illocutionary, directive illocutionary, expressive illocutionary, and commissive illocutionary speech acts. The illocutionary speech act is firm with the function of blaming and complaining. Directive illocutionary speech acts with a commanding function. Expressive illocutionary speech acts with the function of thanking and blaming. Commissive illocutionary speech acts with credit function. In this study also found perlocutionary speech acts with the function of influencing other people or certain parties to do something as expected by the speaker, so that there is an effect on the interlocutor. The effect of the perlocutionary speech act that occurs can be seen from the response of the interlocutor by paying attention to the speech context.
Adat Temanten is a tradition that is often performed and seen by the community. However, not a few of the people who don't understand the philosophical meaning of the various rituals of Adat Temanten. In this research, an analysis will be conducted on the philosophical meaning of the local wisdom of the Adat Temanten ritual using an anthropolinguistic approach. This study aimed to describe the things contained in the philosophy of traditional Javanese Malang wedding rituals, such as ( 1) the text in the form of terms that contain lexical meaning and contextual meaning; and (2) cultural values that consist of the value of the relationship between man and God, nature, society, other human beings, and oneself. The source of data in this study is a pre -procedure in Ngingit Village, Tumpang District, Malang Regency, East Java. The data analyzed in the form of the ritual text of Adat Temanten in the form of stages in the wedding procession. The data collection techniques used were in depth interview techniques, observation, and literature study. The data analysis technique used is ethnographic techniques and interactive models with the aim of describing the cultural characteristics of Adat Temanten in more depth systematically. Based on this, the results of the research in this paper are; (1) The lexical and contextual meanings in the traditional rituals of the Temanten Malang, (2) The meaning of culture in the traditional rituals of the Temanten Malang.
Ludruk is one of the local cultures of East Java that still survives in some areas to this day. This article attempts to describe the innovation strategy and local ludruk management of Toyomarto Village that is adaptive to the pandemic. In addition, this research is also an implementation of efforts to preserve and maintain local arts in East Java. One area in East Java that still preserves Ludruk culture is Toyomarto Village, Singosari District, Malang. The demands of the times require that the performing arts of Ludruk always undergo changes (transformation) both in the structure of the performance, the story that is told, acting, musical accompaniment, lighting, and others. It is the duty of art activists to always think creatively and innovatively, as well as modify Ludruk performances so that they can be accepted by the community, with a note that they maintain their traditional values. This qualitative research integrates folkloristic studies and text content analysis. The research data obtained through interviews and observations were then described with folklore studies and content analysis techniques.
