Resumen: Una única familia, los Guerrero, mantendrá una prebenda en el cabildo de la catedral de Murcia durante ciento cincuenta años de forma ininterrumpida. Originarios de la villa de Hellín, esta presencia ha de contemplarse como el resultado de unas estrategias familiares que perseguían la instalación de este linaje entre la élite local. abstract:The Guerrero family kept a prebend in the chapter of the cathedral of Murcia for one hundred and fifty years without interruption. Native to the village of Hellin, this presence has to be seen as the result of family strategies that that pursuing the installation of this lineage between the local elite. This paper will explore what meant for the Guerrero family having a relative who was a prebendary; it will confirm that his intervention and assistance were essential to build and consolidate the process of social ascent.
En este trabajo se estudian los hogares de los clérigos seculares de la ciudad de Murcia durante los siglos XVII y XVIII a partir de dos fuentes realizadas con fines recaudatorios: unas declaraciones de eclesiásticos de 1667 y el libro de familias del Vecindario de 1756. Se trata de analizar las estructuras familiares en que estaban presentes los parientes, detectándose que predominaban las mujeres. Se ha comprobado que había diferentes motivos que explicaban la presencia de familiares en las casas de los eclesiásticos: desde brindar cuidado y asistencia o ayudar en sus estudios, hasta colaborar en el servicio doméstico.
A través del examen de una visita episcopal al cabildo de la catedral de Murcia en 1592 y de las causas seguidas contra sus prebendados en los tribunales diocesanos en los años finales del siglo XVI y los primeros del siglo XVII, este trabajo pretende comprobar cómo fueron recibidas entre el alto clero las disposiciones del Concilio de Trento sobre la reforma del estado eclesiástico.
