Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) is a program by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government whichgives a chance for the less affluent to achieve up to secondary education. This paper examines three aspects of KJP implementation, namely (i) Kartu Jakarta Pintar (KJP) merupakan program Pemerintah DKI Jakarta yang memberi peluang bagi masyarakat kurang mampu untuk mengenyam pendidikan minimal hingga jenjang pendidikan menengah. Tulisan ini mengkaji tiga aspek implementasi KJP dilihat dari (i) peluang implementasi program sebagai pemenuhan keadilan sosial; (ii) problematika implementasi program dan tantangan ke depan; dan (iii) KJP sebagai upaya peningkatan layanan pendidikan. Studi ini menggunakan data primer dari wawancara dan data sekunder yang relevan. Temuan pokok menunjukkan bahwa pelanggaran dan penyalahgunaan dana KJP masih terjadi. Meskipun pemerintah sudah memperbaiki aturan, pengelolaan, dan mekanisme penyaluran dana, namun ketidakakuratan data dan subjek penerima masih ditemukan. Hal itu perlu menjadi titik evaluasi, perbaikan, dan inovasi dalam rangka mencapai keadilan sosial bagi warga yang tidak mampu.
Bangsa Indonesia adalah bangsa yang sangat dekat dengan keberagaman. Terdiri dari kurang lebih 1.300 suku bangsa yang tersebar dari Sabang hingga Merauke, setiap suku tersebut memilki budaya, bahasa, dan cara hidup yang berbeda-beda, bahkan dapat juga menganut sistem kepercayaan atau agama tersendiri. Terbukti, dengan kekayaan perbedaan tersebut, Indonesia dapat berdiri sebagai bangsa dan negara yang merdeka. Namun, sejak 2005 kita dihadapi pada fenomena baru, yakni meningkatnya kasus intoleransi dan radikalisme yang mengatasnamakan isu primordial, seperti agama dan etnis. Mudah saja jika kita mengasumsikan bahwa konflik semata terjadi karena kesalahpahaman antarkelompok semata, atau sebagai akibat dari kesenjangan ekonomi yang menimbulkan kecemburuan sosial. Padahal, yang sebenarnya terjadi tidak lah sesederhana itu. Buku bungai rampai ini akan menelusuri serta menguak kasus-kasus intoleransi dan radikalisme yang terjadi di berbagai wilayah di Indonesia. Data terkini yang telah dikumpulkan melalui observasi mendetail di lapangan serta wawancara eksklusif dengan narasumber yang kompeten akan dianalisis dengan metode ilmiah untuk menghasikan suatu temuan dan kesimpulan yang berkualitas. Dengan demikian, diharapkan buku bunga rampai ini dapat menjadi katalis bagi para pembacanya untuk dapat membangun kehidupan yang lebih positif dalam bingkai keindonesiaan di lingkungan masing-masing.
Para guru menjadi aktor yang sangat krusial dalam menjamin pembelajaran tetap berlangsung di masa pandemi. Guru mengubah pola adaptasi, komunikasi, dan strategi dalam mendidik anak di masa pandemi. Guru melakukan berbagai transformasi agar anak-anak tetap memperolah hak di bidang pendidikan. Artikel ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mewawancarai guru via media komunikasi maupun tatap muka di wilayah Jakarta Selatan, Kabupaten Bogor, Kota Depok, Kabupaten Bekasi, Kota Tangerang, dan Kabupaten Pandeglang. Selain itu penelusuran pustaka dilakukan dengan memanfaatkan hasil kajian sebelumnya, artikel media cetak maupun daring, maupun berbagai kebijakan yang dirilis oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan (Kemdikbud). Ada tiga hal yang hendak dipaparkan pada artikel ini. Pertama, adaptasi guru di masa pandemi sangat bergantung pada komitmen, dukungan lingkungan dan kapital yang dimiliki guru. Kedua, komunikasi dan dialog antara guru dan orangtua sangat penting dilakukan. Ketiga, pandemi membuat transformasi guru menjadi lebih cepat karena dituntut oleh kebutuhan memenuhi hak anak.
Purpose of the study: to find out: 1) basic literacy skills (ability to read, write and count) elementary school early grades students; (2) quality of textbooks in aspects of content, presentation, language, and graphic design; and (3) The significance of the relationship between the quality of textbooks and students' basic literacy skills.Methodology: This research uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. It was conducted in eight provinces in Indonesia. The sampling technique used stratified random sampling, 805 teachers. Data collection used a questionnaire for elementary school teachers who teach in low grades. The data analysis used descriptive statistics and correlation analysis.Main Findings: It was found that there are still relatively many early grades elementary school students who are not fluent in reading, writing, and arithmetic. These students' basic literacy skills have a significant and positive relationship with the quality of textbooks in the aspects of substance, presentation, language, and graphic design.Applications of this study: To improve basic literacy skills (reading, writing, and arithmetic) in early grades elementary school students, it is also necessary to improve the quality of textbooks in the aspects of substance/Content, presentation, language, and graphic design.Novelty/Originality of this study: It was found that there is a significant and positive relationship between basic literacy skills (reading, writing, and arithmetic) of early grades elementary school students and the quality of the textbooks they used both in terms of substance/Content, presentation, language, and graphic design.
Dialogue is an important part of strengthening democratization. However, dialogue has not been fully practiced and prioritized in schools. Schools become important institutions to promote tolerance and dialogue from various traditions or cultural backgrounds. Strengthening dialogue is an important part of the humanist education approach. This research discussed how Kolese Gonzaga High School established a learning system that provides a large space for dialogue. In each activity, the school tries to develop communication skills, learn to understand each other, and also collaborate with various communities. This research focused on two things: (i) the practice of establishing school as a space for dialogue, and (ii) how school can promote dialogue for peace. This research was qualitative research with a case study approach. Informants were selected using a purposive sampling technique. Meanwhile, the data collection techniques used are in-depth interviews, observation, and literature study. Interviews were conducted with school principals, teachers, students, and parents. Dialogue activities are strengthened in various activities at school. Kolese Gonzaga High School establishes dialogue spaces in various fields in the school such as in classrooms, daily activities, and activities outside of school.

The internet has become a medium for disseminating ideas and practices of religious patterns that are different from traditional religious authorities. On the other hand, there are increasing opportunities for transnational religious movements seeking to build their influence in Indonesia. Another interesting phenomenon is the presence of New Santri coming to color the world of da'wah in Indonesia through new media. Through this book, the authors try to explain the phenomena that are happening in the struggles for religious authority in Indonesia. This book describes at least three factors that significantly influence recent religious competitions, namely: globalization, post-Reformation democratization (after 1998), and the growth of various private television channels and social media users. These three factors have a strong impact in shaping and internalizing the construction, contestation, fragmentation, and pluralization of contemporary Indonesian religious authorities.
In 2020, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia introduced a significant educational policy reform entitled Kampus Merdeka. Kampus Merdeka provides a national approach for Work Integrated Learning (WIL) opportunities for Higher Education students to enhance their future career prospects. However, many challenges have clouded Kampus Merdeka’s execution and its desired resultant impact. Indonesian Higher Education institutions are experiencing significant implementation challenges. This discussion paper aims to undertake a review of the current available literature related to Kampus Merdeka, to better understand the policy’s broader operationalization and future implications for the sector. This discussion focuses on four key themes: Higher Education Management and Administrative Practices, Curriculum Change, Academic Staff Preparedness and Defining and Reshaping Roles and Responsibilities of Academics. The article concludes with reflections concerning the strengthening of the evidence base for Kampus Merdeka’s future operationalization.
This paper aims to analyze the management of fisheries and marine vocational secondary schools in Indonesia. This paper will discuss two parts. The first part is the management of fisheries and marine vocational high schools in Indonesia. The second part is crucial problems in managing vocational schools for fisheries and maritime affairs in Indonesia. The data used in this paper is research data in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2018 and several data updates carried out during 2020. This research uses qualitative methods through a combination of data collection techniques, namely interviews, focus group discussion (FGD), and observation. Observations were made at SMKN 1 Sanden, SMKN 1 Temon, and Sadeng Harbor, Gunung Kidul. The results showed that local governments role in developing Fisheries and Marine Vocational High Schools is still not optimal and needs to be improved because it can be optimized to its regional potential. The synergy between the central government and local governments in developing and managing a Fisheries and Marine Vocational School is the crucial factor that needs to be considered.
