The common bean has a great economic, social, and nutritional importance and requires high levels of nitrogen for its cultivation. The plant in symbiosis with rhizobia bacteria can benefit from biological nitrogen fixation (BNF). To assess the agronomic efficacy of rhizobia isolates on the nodulation, contribution of BNF and productivity of the common bean, two experiments were conducted in separate locations. Seventeen Rhizobium tropici isolates were selected and compared with three commercial Rhizobium spp. strains: CIAT 899 and H12 (R. tropici) and PRF 81 (R. freirei). The variables analyzed were: number of nodules (NN), nodules dry weight (NDW), root dry weight (RDW), leaf area (LA), shoot dry weight (SDA), total nitrogen in shoots (Total-N), number of pods (NP), number of grains (NG), grain yield (GY), percentage of nitrogen derived from BNF (Ndfa%), and total nitrogen derived from BNF in the shoots (NdBNF). Inoculation with R. tropici isolates promoted significant gains in nodulation, growth, and productivity of the common bean. About 50% of the isolates promoted GY rates equal to or superior to the nitrogen treatment (NT) and to the standard strains CIAT 899, PRF 81, and H12. Among the best isolates, the Ndfa% ranged from 64.2% to 75.8%, with NdBNF ranging from 802.91 to 1037.56 mg plant -1 . The isolate JPrG10A6 of Rhizobium tropici provided high values of NdBNF and GY, showing great potential to be used commercially as inoculant of the common bean crop.
-The common bean requires high levels of nitrogen (N) to achieve high productivity, which can be supplied, at least partially, by the biological nitrogen fixation (BFN). Two field experiments were carried out in the winter season of 2015 aiming to evaluate the effects of different cover crops, desiccation times and the agronomic performance of the common bean inoculated with rhizobia. The experiments were assembled in a randomized block design with four replications, in a factorial split-plot arrangement with two additional treatments (5x4x2+2). The factors were composed of five cover crops, four desiccation times, two seed inoculation treatments and two additional controls (TN = 90 Kg N ha -1 and T0 = without N and without inoculation). The variables analyzed in the cover crops were dry mass (DM) and total nitrogen (Total-N). With the common bean, the chlorophyll content (CC), the number of nodules (NN), the nodule dry weight (NDW), the shoot dry weight (SDW), the root dry weight (RDW) and the grain yield (GY) were evaluated. The results showed that the agronomic performance of the common bean was not affected by the desiccation times of the cover crops, although the amount of Total-N accumulated by cover crops was influenced by sowing times. Inoculation of the common bean promoted an increase in the NN, NDW, CC and SDW. Higher GY of the common bean was achieved with its cropping after Brachiaria brizantha, Brachiaria ruziziensis, millet and fallow. Keywords: Phaseolus vulgaris. No tillage system. A inoculação do feijoeiro-comum promoveu aumento do N...
A adubação influenciou ºBrix, Pol e ATR.

This research aimed to evaluate the effect of different land-uses on physical and chemical properties of Oxisols under cerrado conditions in central region of Goiás, Brazil. The data were analysed in a randomized experimental design in a 4 × 3 factorial arrangement with five replications. The land-uses were: 1-Annual crops, 2-Pasture, 3-Sugarcane and 4-Native forest (control). The second factor consisted of three sampling depths: 0-0.05, 0.1-0.2 and 0.2-0.3 m. The physical attributes analysed were: total clay (TC), natural clay (NC), bulk density (BD), particle density (PD), total porosity (TP), degree of flocculation (DF), soil resistance to penetration (SRP), gravimetric water content (%GWC). Chemicals attributes analized: pH in water (pH), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), aluminium (Al), potential acidity (H+Al), potassium (K), phosphorus (P), soil organic matter (SOM), cation exchange capacity (T) and base saturation (V%). Annual crops showed higher K levels (0-0.3 m) and lower SOM values (0-0.3 m), Ca and Mg (0-0.05 m) affecting T in relation to the forest. The use sugarcane showed higher values of BD, PD and SRP, and smaller values of TP, SOM, P and T. On the other hand, the values of Ca and Mg are kept close to those of the control. The attribute V% is preserved for annual crops, sugarcane and pasture with values higher than those verified in native forest. The use pasture reduced TP and P and Ca, Mg and T. The land-uses studied reduced soil quality compared to the forest, in descending order were sugarcane > annual crops > pasture.

The study evaluated the agronomic performance of green maize grown on residual organomineral fertilization used in the industrial tomato crop. The randomized block design was used, with three replications and eight treatments as follows: control (without fertilizer application); mineral fertilizer; cattle manure; organomineral with cattle manure + MAP (monoammonium phosphate); chicken manure; organomineral with chicken manure + MAP; broiler litter; and organomineral with broiler litter + MAP. All of those treatments were applied to the tomato crop that preceded the green maize crop. After the tomato harvest, maize was sown in the same tomato growing row. Growth variables of green maize plants and ears were evaluated. The green maize grown in areas with residues of chicken and cattle manure, used as fertilizers in the tomato crop preceding the maize crop, resulted in a number of commercial ears similar to when mineral fertilizer was used. The same similar results were obtained for ear quality and yield. The use of organic fertilizers in the industrial tomato crop presented high viability, which made possible to replace the use of mineral fertilizers in the subsequent green maize crop.
